Big Tobacco: Sometimes Crime Does Pay

Shares of Altria Group jumped more than 3% after what was widely seen as a favorable federal court ruling that increased the likelihood that the big tobacco company would break up, and spin off its majority stake in Kraft Foods.

If this is what losing a racketeering case feels like, we cannot even imagine what would have happened if the tabacco companies had actually won. Well, smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.
