The Associated Press reports on the latest duties of Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson--arguing with dogs.
Just in time for the holidays, America's best-known Scottish terrier is back with a new video on the White House Web site. It's "Barney's Holiday Extravaganza," a production that follows Barney around the White House as he plans a holiday show, runs into trouble developing a plot and then wrangles over his budget with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Budget Director Rob Portman.

Many thanks to the DealBreaker.com team for linking to the exciting footage of Barney supervising the holiday ("Christmas" is verboten) celebrations and conferring with the President of the United States in the Oval Office.
Incidentally, the candid shots of Barney in the Oval Office may be an indication that Bush is starting to groom his successor, which, if it is indeed Barney, would be an improvement.
How cute, right?
Wrong. Frankly, it makes me want to vomit. The "cuteness factor" is nauseating. Americans like to put on "cute" stunts like this one, featuring "cute" kids or puppies getting into some mischief or hijinks, because they are desperate for others to like them. Instead, it prompts ridicule and derision. In other words, they don't hate us because we're free. They hate us because we're idiots.
