Jeff Skilling Reports To Prison, Hugs Mystery Woman

skilling.jpg

Skilling arrived at the low-security prison a little after 1 p.m. EST [today] in a small silver SUV. The vehicle pulled up to the front gate, and at least four people got out. Skilling hugged a woman who arrived with him, and the entourage walked into the prison. A few minutes later, everyone except Skilling emerged and the SUV drove away.

The indentity of the woman Skilling hugged was not known.

No word on whether or not she's in on his scam.

The mystery woman is... his wife. The real question is will she stick around for the long haul. D. Kozlowski found out the answer to that real quick into his sentence.

Ms. Skilling has been ruled out as being the 'mystery' woman. She remained behind in Houston with family when Jeff's flight departed Bush Intercontinental earlier in the day.

Hmm... Houston Chronicle is reporting it was her and the picture of this woman from behind looks like Rebecca Carter. Guess it could also have been his former assistant Sherri Sera...

Excerpt from Houston Chronicle article:

...He was driven into the prison by his brother, Mark. Skilling rode in the passenger seat of the silver Jeep Liberty with his wife, Rebecca Carter, sitting in the back. Next to her was Sherri Sera, Skilling's longtime assistant at Enron...

Damn, you guys are really fixated on this "mystery woman" thing! Next thing you know you'll be obsessing about what brand of condom Skilling will insist his fellow inmates use on him...

I am very optimistic that Mr. Skilling's appeal will be successful, so that the time he may be in prison will be very short lived. I believe the Court of Appeals will overturn every charge against this good man.

You know, I am a little dismayed at this incident. Sure, I know the Enron thing, I live in Houston and watched it happen. I
was a victim of MCI.

But what has happened to human decency? Really? If Jeff got 5 years that would have punished him, hurt his family life, and basically destroyed him as a man.

But 24 years? That is life for him. That is death. That's not a simple punishment, that is a death sentence.

Who in their right mind would think or believe that his wife, who hugged him today when he lost his "freedom" is still going to be there 24 years from now? It's sad, but she will not be. She will move on and find another man, while Jeff's mind and soul rots. One of them will die first. He will never make love to her again.

Jeff should have killed himself, just like the Chronicle reported that he had considered. That would have been his only way out.

I think that the sentence is sick, and it is disgusting and is a revolting example of our society. Sure, sounds like he screwed up trying to make a lot of money. Who doesn't try to make a lot of money these days?

As far as I am concerned, doing this mental torture to a man is nothing short of terrorism, and the judge, and presecutors should be executed to cleanse our society of terrorism.

What we have here is a man who has a family and he was trying to make money. Now, he is ripped from his family and subjected to decades of mental torture. See... That is NOT the United States of America that I swore to, that is a sick, twisted method of torture. Many seem to be happy with it. I think it is sick, as it is destroying a human mind by mob culture.

What will this man do for 24 years now? Well, he will die. That's all. He will die in sick misery wondering and only dreaming of what his family will do. he has nothing left, no reason to live, as all life has been ripped away from him. And this torture will continue every day for him, while the rest of us have kids and keep going for the next 2.5 decades.

If he needs to pay someone back, let im work. I think what is being done to him is sick.

Looks like Ol Jeff packed on some pounds to get ready for his prison stay. Hope he enjoyed his meals.

"Someboty"

Are you Canadian? The reason I'm asking is because you seem to think that Skilling shoudn't be held accountable for his white collar crimes. My sympathies lie with the many who got ripped off, the pensioners who will have to decide whether to eat or buy medications - the victims, not the perps!!
