So Hsu Me

boys.gifThe Guardian reported on Friday that Reuters plans to launch a MySpace for the finance world and none too soon: given the arrest of high profile hedge fund manager Albert Hsu on Friday for “myriad Internet crimes, including attempted kidnapping and sexual assault,” a special zoo where these fund mangers, traders and analyst freaks can be rounded up and allowed to do whatever they’d do on the standard ‘Space but in their own domain where it’s assumed they’re up to no good, is apparently just what we need.

Being held on $750,000 bond and due to be arraigned this afternoon, Hsu is the co-founder and managing director of fund of hedge funds Anchor Point Capital. Previous to that, he was the U.S. investment officer for The Atlantic Philanthropies, where he oversaw hedge fund investments representing half of the foundation’s $1.8 billion multi-strategy hedge fund portfolio in 40+ funds.

Though Reuters’s site is set to launch later this year, it will likely prove difficult to lure the targeted demographic away from MySpace, if it's anything like Hsu, who has, in all probability, amassed an impressive number of “friends” not interested in making the switch—Mr. Internet Predator is reportedly a Cub Scout Leader.
