Dresdner Kleinwort is no longer facing a class action lawsuit from six women who alleged the bank was discriminating against women. This morning the news broke that the bank had “read an out of court settlement” with the women. The terms are undisclosed so all we have is a vague outline—the bank didn’t admit to any wrongdoing, but the women are satisfied. We’re going to check with our brother blogger David Lat at AboveTheLaw, but we’re pretty sure that in this case satisfied is a technical legal term meaning “they got a bunch of money.”

What ever happened to all those other poor women in the “class action”?
These women had the courage to stand up to a foreign company which did not comply with anti discrimination rules that have been in place in this country for many years. They gambled their careers to fight for compensation for the injustices that were bestowed upon them. If there had been no wrong doings, the company would not have settled.
Good for them.
Good for them….indeed ! However, didnt they want thier case to be heard? I guess the almighty dollar was more important than the integrity of the case.If there were wrong doings why did the company not have to admit them?
