Would you believe us (Charlie Gasparino) if we (he) told you that John Thain:
- Had a letter addressed to him from floor trader Kevin M. Flanders that said “Thank U [sic] John Thain for ruining all of our careers?”
- Knows he isn’t well-liked by the trading community
- Once ate a panda
- Was accompanied by a security detail on a recent visit to the floor
- Just wants to dance
- Is “openly mocked for his stiffness”
- “Makes Al Gore look animated”
- Is allergic to bees
- Often finds that his attempts at humor fall flat because, “given his rigid demeanor, traders simply can’t tell whether he’s kidding” or not
- Has a 22″ cock

i would believe the part about the panda
it’s 17″
With a 22″ inch cock, you can be sure the only thing that is rigid is his demeanor.
Speaking of attempts at humor falling flat, I for one am tired of reading these Dealbreaker posts where certain words are crossed out or inserted in brackets. Is it supposed to be funny or cute? Yeah whatever.
No way I love the cross outs it helps me understand jokes I otherwise wouldn’t get.
Have there been any today?
liam– what’s crossed out in this post?
The crossed out things are funny – I can’t explain it to Vinny’s, but it’s a new media meta humor type tying.
The crossed out things are funny – I can’t explain it to Vinny’s, but it’s a new media meta humor thing.
Levin’s post on AdultVest is a good example. Crossing out words and inserting other words in their place because you think looks funny? Okay, I get it. Yeah, I understand it. It’s still not funny.
“…new media meta humor type tying”?!
Yeah whatever.
no, it’s funny. but glad to see you found the one today liam. you always see things through to the end, don’t you buddy?
cross outs are here to stay. be more open and flexible Liam. it’s the internet, stupid (not you Liam). Those last tree words would be crossed out if I knew how to do it Liam. Get the picture.
I thought Silicon Valley Breasts was good too. that wouldnt even be a joke without the cross outs, it would just be Silicon Breasts, which as we all know are no joke!
No, it’s not funny. Why not just write, “Long Silicon Breasts”? Or, ideally, something cleverer? Apologies for being so pedantic, but I spend my day looking at account statements and hf prospectuses and I find this kind of thing perturbable. Yeah whatever.
DealBreaker – Too Highbrow for Backoffice Since 2006.
“Highbrow”? Surely you’re joking! The whole “crossing out words” thing is so freshman year. Of high school.
“I spend my day looking at account statements and hf prospectuses and I find this kind of thing perturbable.”
I think you mean to say that you become perturbable. I assure you that crossed-out-words are neither perturbable nor unperturbable.
“Perturbable”? I have to infer that this means “subject to perturbations?” If you mean “producing perturbations,” as you evidently do, than “perturbing” would be better, on the analogy of “disturbing.”
Just pedantry responding to pedantry.
Darn you anon! You beat me to the perturbing punch by 3 minutes. I blame my server.
