Unwinding the Trade: The the stripper carry trade that it. As the Canadian dollar hits equality with the US dollar, the traditional Canadian stripper arbitrage trade has become completely unwound. Au revoir Club Super Sexx!
Strategy: Short Montreal & Quebbec. Short Canadian weed, strippers, Long Vermont weed, Stilletos (all-nood club by Giants stadium, seriously check it out)
Still long immoral Canadian products. Too many US jurisdictions are topless only or even require pasties, never mind closeups or the full product demonstration that you get in Mtl. Vermont's got skunk, nothing beats BC supply.
Then, of course, there's Mtl's lenient 18 drinking age and Bleue Dry at 6.1%. Compare to Natty Lite at 4.2% Still long Mtl for college kids in New England. So it's going to cost a bit more - given that the trust fund has already gotten you a couple sports cars or you're picking up student loans for 40k/year, who cares?
the canadian stripper arbitrage trade is somewhat undermined by the fact that you can't really tip less than 5 bucks canadian on stage unless you want to be winging loonies at surly strippers.
Pitching loonies is the way that it works... at least out west.
Full agreement with BB: You can't go wrong with a couple of packs of Craven A or Shredder Number 7 and a case of two of Old Stock. BC supply is a multi-BILLION dollar industry.
