When Erin Burnett failed to appear on Squawk on the Street this morning and also missed Street Signs, tongues began wagging. Had the reports that the brass at CNBC were miffed at her Men’s Health article taken it’s toll on the Street Sweetie? There was speculation that she may have gone into hiding to avoid the bad publicity. Others thought she may have been asked to take a leave of absence by her bosses at the network. And at least one bunker full of writers in Soho began wondering if she was hunting down Bess Levin, who first brought attention to the Men’s Health article.
We can report that a well-placed source informs us that none of these guesses are correct. According to our spy, Burnett requested to take today off as far back as six weeks ago. Today’s absence is unrelated to the recent Men’s Health brouhaha. Which is totally disappointing and non-scandalous.

Journalists have done much worse for instance look at Katie Couric about a year ago she introduced a new segment on her show, "Free Speech." She characterized it as "a privilege we have." so she thinks freedom of speech is a privilege, and she didn't get fired or at least take a leave of absence, and you guys (including CNBC) have the nerve to call her "ignorant" and "entitled" when all she did was write about how she wants a man to treat her in her personal life, give me a break she did NOTHING wrong.
One more thing, she has more class than all of you combined.

Haven't watched Haines or her for awhile. He was better in studio, terrible on the floor. IMHO they have no chemistry and the early SB show now is no longer funny. She just bores me. A lot of people can read scripts.

I used to like Erin too, but I've decided she is a moron. I cut her some slack for some of the off-hand comments she made, just trying to keep up with the conversation in most cases.
But this Men's Health piece. She wrote it! She thought about it, typed it out and then got it approved.
And she's going to be a "judge" on Trump's Celebrity Apprentice show. Duh! Carreer-wise (unfortunately not style-wise) she has more in common with Paris Hilton than not.

opening (literal, not figurative) doors for me
good hygiene (how is it that those who ought know better, DON'T? were they raised in a gilded barn?)
knowledge of history and art
smells good (not cologned to death. I know, I just wrote essentially the same thing as above. hygiene, bears repeating)
treating service workers decently, 'thank you.' that's a big 'wow!' in my book
is interested in topics other than himself
doesn't talk smack about exes
an excellent sense of humor (actually, that's the top of my list)
