Just in case you missed it last night, we're bringing the reader poll on today's Fed decision back to the top of the page. There's about an hour left to vote for this before we shut down the poll and start gearing up to cover the aftermath.

ADP January private-sector adds 130,000 jobs.
Recession my candy ass.
No rate cuts

@ Anal_yst, 11:39
ADP is extremely volatile, still unproven and has under 50% correlation to NFP, which is what drives the market. It is a fkg worthless stat. NEXT.

@ ImRight
I agree in-and-of-itself, but in the grand scheme of things, where is this apparent recession the politicians and pundits would have us believe we're entering?

What time is the announcement, anyway?

Spoke with two colleagues of mine on opposite ends of the office.
Colleague #1: Any adjustment up or down is priced in.
Colleague #2: The market will take a big swing if there is no cut OR a big cut.
Conclusion: No one knows shit.

I know shit.

Confusion:
only 75% of people taking the "Registered Nurse" survey @ left responded with "I am not a registered nurse". Huh?

OK John, two quick polls:
If the Fed cuts 25bps, how does the market react? (I say SPX closes down 175bps)
If the Fed cuts 50bps? (I say down 100bps)

@01:24PM: I'm shocked it's that high. Like all internet polls, it's subject to selection bias. Why would you bother voting unless you were an RN or wanted to pretend to be an RN to influence the outcome? Three quarters of respondents had no opinion yet cared enough to cast a vote. WTF?
