Step One should be the "OFF" button.

she really does seem hammered
Posted by AJ, Feb 08, 2008 10:35AM
She seems mildly retarded...
Does anyone actually watch this crap?
Posted by 1-2, Feb 08, 2008 10:36AM
@AJ,
No...(from Paul Kedrosky)
The initial ratings for the newly launched business network are ... crummy. According to new Nielsen's data, about 6,300 people are, on average, watching Fox Business Network on any given day. Nielsen's relevant figure for CNBC is something like 283,000.

hey 1-2, thanks for giving us the stats that dealbreaker wrote about like a month ago!
Posted by The Barber, Feb 08, 2008 10:39AM
Should be called "Ferrari Driving School: Douche Bags with Long Hair are Not COOL"
Posted by tedclark, Feb 08, 2008 10:48AM
First of all 1-2 and his numbers are totally incorrect. When you don't know what you are talking about....SHUT UP. I did not see the clip live as broadcast however, some advice to Roger Ailes the Chief at FBN (Fox Business News) keep Tracy Burnes off the air IF she is hammered and, it looks on replay of the clip she was. Tracy should not have been allowed by the producer of "Happy Hour" to have been seen in that condition. Watch the media folk....she could become a former reporter. I am now a FOX viewer cause I think they are trying to get the right interviews to cover the right stuff. While I am at it I thought the Erin Burnett crap was buried...some s--thead at NYP is trying to stir it up again.

It figures Cody is wearing a bright pink shirt...

@JS,
I know DB wrote about that a while ago. Thanks for taking the time to go find the link. Sounds like you're just as busy as i am these days.
@Ted,
I cited where my numbers came from, and I didn't see you cite anything. While i concede that the ratings may be different than what Kedrosky reported, just yelling "shut up" is not a very good rhetorical device. As someone who grew up in and around the media business (MSNBC columnist, IMG Media producer, NBC Olympics producer), i think i kinda know what I am talking about--but obviously i'm reading Reuters and not logging into Neilsen now. Fox tried to differentiate by bridging the Wall St./Main St. gap. Unfortunately for them that meant they would co-opt neither market. Wall Streeters want more data (and less Ludacris, CFP), ala Bloomberg, and Main Streeters simply don't care. Maybe if they had launched in the '90s and had WSJ before they signed a contract with CNBC then FBN COULD be viable. Right now it isnt. I'm also pretty sure Roger knows to keep drunk people off the air, but you gotta love Haines in the AM when he's gone hair o' the dog.

Why was the title changed from "Shitfaced Fox Business Anchors" to "Plastered"? There has to be a good story behind that.
Posted by pimp it out, Feb 08, 2008 11:17AM
Sure, FBN is lame. So what? A decent lookin' chick with a big rack is hammered and probably primed for action and you are all lathered up about it. What the fuck is the world coming to?
Posted by , Feb 08, 2008 11:28AM
oh, somebody always makes bess change her headlines sooner or later when they are obscene, unfortunately
Posted by Novice, Feb 08, 2008 11:44AM
1-2, that's perhaps the best transition from potentially having foot in mouth to credentials bitchslap and cutting insight that I've seen. Nicely done.
Posted by tedclark, Feb 08, 2008 11:45AM
@1-2 The ratings agency Nielsen should appear on anybody's claim to fame. I have emailed J.Wald...and J. Zucker of CNBC and NBC because of office memos that can claim anything. Believe it if from Nielsen and then only with a grain of salt. Sorry about the Shut Up......too used to yelling a my dog.
Posted by Investor, Feb 08, 2008 11:54AM
@1-2 Hey let me jump in between 1-2 and Ted and ask this. Do either of you think Maria Bartiromo is giving you helpful info with her ad libs and interviews OR do you think she has a self-serving agenda?
Posted by Living the Dream, Feb 08, 2008 12:00PM
This is yet another reason I am so glad I can't see the TV from my desk.
Posted by BSD, Feb 08, 2008 12:26PM
Didn't DB run a story about how Roger Ailes is actually trying to make Happy Hour so bad it's good (think Flavor of Love, Surreal Life, et.al. on VH1 that's gotten so popular).
Seems like a brilliant idea to me. That's why I watch - it's about as informative/educational as Cramer, but at least instead of a fat, sweaty bald dude you got a bomb plastered MILF and a wannabe hippie ex-trader with Sykes-level credentials (and social skills) trying to hit on the occasional stripper/cheerleader/model. Way more fun, if you ask me.

Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as awareness, stiffer penalties, getting support, ruthless efficiency and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope!
Nobody expects the Fox Business Channel...

KH..........................................................Nobody expects the Fox Business Channel...to do what. Are you awake...KH? Most of you respondents don't have a damn dollar invested in the markets anyway.......go back to your coloring books.

Interesting article from Roger Ailes?....on the Fox company at mediabistro.com TVnewser. Check it out.

Fox Business channel is completely retarded, which makes it very slightly more retarded than CNBC.

@anonymous...../ On the subject of retards......how you doin?
Posted by , Feb 08, 2008 2:00PM
Did any one else catch the part where Michaelangelo is explaining the three steps to his campaign against drunk driving and forgets the second step? It was amazingly awesome:
Michaelangeo: "The first step is raising awareness. The second step is..."
Tracy: (interupting him to provide what she thinks is the second step) "Second step is driving drunk" (which is followed by her confidently nodding to the camera while clearly plastered)

Have FBN call out CNBC. Liz and Alexis, versus Maria and Becky or Erin at strip poker. Winner takes all viewers...
Posted by Lurker, Feb 08, 2008 3:19PM
I love these idiots that trot out those initial FBN #'s.
Fox news averaged 15,000 viewers in it's 1st year!
Those FBN #'s were like 3 months in on a business channel. They were still in less then 30 million households because alot of the big cities like San Diego, Boston, Chicago etc... haven't came online yet till around January.
Liz and Dave are already averaging 15,000 viewers for their 2-5 block. Dave Ramsay 27,000 viewers.
So keep touting that 6300 number.
Posted by Lurker, Feb 08, 2008 3:22PM
Also forgot to mention that to get FBN, you need to be on their digital tier or pay extra on DTV except for some few places like TWC in NYC that is on basic cable.
Posted by watchmen, Feb 08, 2008 3:46PM
@ LURKER Thanks you seem to be the only one on this site that knows what they are doin. 12 mos. from now when all people can get FBN who want it will cause a complete revision and maybe format change at CNBC. I like the morning Squawk box for a little while and Bill Griffeth and Sue Herrera and yes Erin....after that fuck 'em
Posted by , Feb 08, 2008 4:02PM
FBN is the best, I know it, you know it, Bess sure as heck knows it
Posted by watchmen, Feb 08, 2008 4:06PM
What's wrong with that goddamn Inside Cable .com site. The bastards ask for comments then I guess, if they don't like 'em they don't print 'em. At least DB has been fair with us all....brilliant and totally stupid.
Posted by , Feb 08, 2008 4:50PM
Is it just me, or are most of the posters on this site FBN employees?

Main street tunes out the financial news when there's a bear market. FBN's timing is so off to capture some audience. By the time a bull market returns, FBN may have ran out of time. The best they can hope for is to cannibalize some of their clueless viewers from Fox News.
