There are no jokes about the Holocaust.
There are indeed numerous references in
Jewish religious history relating to the fate and plight of money lenders
(the only role Jews were allowed in certain societies)which would make for an intelligent discussion.
That notwithstanding Ms. Levin's attempt at a cheap joke is atrocious.
Might I suggest that the editors considered removing it.

I never insinuated that Bess was "making fun of the tribe". Self-deprecating humor is what gets me by in many a social setting. I asked that she not make light of the Holocaust which was not a religious event, but a gut- wrenching atrocity that has reshaped families for eternity. My grandparents were survivors who witnessed their siblings being herded off to die like cattle.

It's just not something I like to see made light off to inspire witty journalism.

I am a proud MOT and the humor the Levin uses with respect to us makes me laugh everyday. However this is not about MOT's making fun of other MOT's. I think the issue here is about the trivializing of the Holocaust by making the destruction of BSC comparable to the Holocaust. I think what Bess is doing is making fun of Jimmy Cayne by trying to postulate that JIMMY CAYNE Is equating the 2 events NOT BESS.
To be honest I had a problem with Schindlers List being trivialized by Seinfeld but that is because I am a polish Jew who lost is very lucky that my grandfather escaped while his 8 siblings, parents and his whole extended family were exterminated. That is my bias I admit it and drive on.

I think this is about a J.A.P. who is trivializing the deaths of millions of people for ratings.

If people are offended, they should contact the Corp behind DB, and point out that its writers are going out of their way to personally offend as many readers as possible. I know that I find it offensive, but then I personally understand what the cost was to my own family.

The second approach would be to let the MHL or who ever pays the bills to know that they are advertising at a location that seeks to trivialize the events of WW2 and the millions of people who died for their "Corp" gain.

The sad part is she is a great example of the next generation and what we as parents have raised to replace us. I guess the sick joke is actually on us, the parents of people like Bess.

Its sad that we have reached a stage in society where this could be considered witty... Who cares what her intent was, its the reality of what she wrote when she hit the post button...
