It Gets Worse

cramerspitzerphotobooth.jpgLike we said yesterday, the most depressing thing about the revelation that Steamroller Spitzer spent 800 million dollars on whores over the last number of years is what’s it’s done to Jim Cramer. Appearing on the Today Show yesterday, guy was on the verge of tears the whole time and genuinely sounded like his heart had been smashed to into 4,300 tiny little pieces. Whole thing was very difficult to watch—we actually felt his pain. And, damn you Eliot Spitzer, when you start humanizing Jim Cramer, you have ruined standards for all of us. There is nowhere left to go. We didn’t think it could get any worse. We were wrong. Check out this picture, posted by a Gawker commenter. It’s Cramer and it’s Spitzer and it’s some guy nobody’s heard of (Client 8?), probably when they first met at Harvard Law. Set aside for a moment the question of why three guys are in a Cambridge, MA photo booth together and just look at how happy they are! Cramer still has hair, Spitzer hasn't yet discovered hookers, well, not expensive ones anyhow, and guy nobody’s heard of has funky glasses, and is still anonymous enough not to be associated with either of them. I bet, even as I type these very words, funky glasses is tossing those funky glasses in a dumpster in the alley behind his house, and donning a fake moustache. And shouting, "You go to hell, Eliot Spitzer. You go to hell and die!”

They are so blatantly high in these photos- 2 out of 3 can't even bear the weight of their own eyelids.

Priceless!

Bess, well put.

Cramer was let down in a big way by his ol' buddy Spitzer. In many ways it seems sad for all involved and of course the irony can be delicious...until it's your best friend who's done something this crazy without you ever finding out.

Girl, 22, from broken home and (probably sexual) abuse when young. Running out of money it appears while going for a long-shot music caree. Governor seeks to bring sense of justice and clean image to NY. Spends $80k of family money, taking it from wife and 3 younger daughters. Caught in addiction amidst a web of money transfers and tells his wife right at the very last moment. Let down aides, backers, and key supporters (like Mr. Fox - wow what an ironic name choice too).

I don't care your party or position on it all, if it was your best friend who rose to power and went down in flames it would be heartbreak. Definitely a side of Mr. Cramer I've not seen before...

Spitter might have acquired his penchant for high-priced whores way before HLS -- he comes from serious $.

bess,

big disappointment last night, I trooped all the way down the land of no ties and you didn't show. thankfully, carney decided to take from your bonus pool and spring for beers.

however, your investigative reporting on the steamroller's dalliances may be on to something here. could it be that cramer was on the verge of tears because he fears that his good ol' buddy ol' pal client #9 may out him as client #10...just askin'

Why didn't Mr. Spitzer just buy an equity stake (or all) in an escort service (offshore account of course)? For $80,000, he probably would've made money, received plenty of 'discount' service (think of the casting call interviews for 'new talent'), and controlled the books. Especially in he started it in a European nation where cops are underpaid . And with his legal knowledge, he probably could've papered enough limited partnerships to have the IRS take years (if ever) to figure out what was going on.

It was kinda sad to watch Cramer on TV.. So heartbroken. If I recall correctly, wasn't Spitzer invested in Cramer's fund before he ran for office?

Sad, Indeed.

Come on, where's the investigative reporting? The third guy is Cliff Sloan, who was roommates with Eliot at Harvard Law. He is now the publisher of Slate Magazine.

What was Spitzer up to at the back? Note the change of expression on Cramer's face.

20

@12:59 It may also be Phil Midick. Or perhaps Cliffy Sloan. Then again, I haven't seen Mike Hunt in a while, so it might be him too. Have you seen Mike Hunt lately?

Cramer's sadness was cringe inducing and really humanized the guy.

Nothing positive ever comes from putting 3 guys in a photo booth. Nothing

Mystery Guest #3 is Cliff Sloan, now publisher of Slate.com and formerly in the White House counsel's office under Bill Clinton. Sloan, Cramer and Spitzer were very close friends at Harvard Law, and remain close today.

that's famous picture of cliff sloan, cramer, and spitzer -- folks have talked about it and commented on how crazy it is that all three (apparently good friends) grew up to be so successful
