Surprising: shares of BSC are down nearly five percent since Rabbi Cayne sold his stock. Not surprising: A would-be incoming analyst in Bear Stearns’ equities department writes to tell us he’s been informed the services of he and his brethren are no longer required (and to inquire about openings at DealBreaker. Just one: Hahn's job). Cheer up BSC shareholders/BSC employee who never was-- you didn't have a worse week than this guy:

This guy has about as much worth as a $100 call option in BSC. But cheer up Bucko - I'm sure FBC or CNBC can use your talents. Hey, is Mark Haines any better? And if it weren't for all the horny nothings wondering how to get in Erin Burnett's pants, she'd be doing Rebird sports instead of you.

I hear sportscasters on local news say, "Boom goes the dynamite!" from time to time. I think it is an inside joke in sportscasting and the poor kid made TV history because of it.

Just in case you forgot, his name is Brian Collins. That's him to the right. Nice guy, too. Bad goatee, but nice guy. He's the kind of guy who travels to Appalachia and helps build houses for Habitat For Humanity. Wants to make a difference in the world.
On a March night in 2005, the nice guy volunteered to anchor the "Newslink @ Nine" sportscast on the Ball State University television station. The scheduled anchor had canceled, so Collins, a 19-year-old telecommunications freshman from Milan, Ohio, offered to help. He had never done a sportscast, but how hard could it be, right? You read some scores, breeze through the highlights, and before you know it, you're back in your dorm room doing English Lit homework.
