I don’t know what could possibly heal the gaping wound on our hearts inflicted by the footage of Jim Cramer appearing genuinely upset over Eliot Spitzer’s love of whores, but this is good start: apparently James Cayne paid $28 million for his new 6,000 square foot home at the Plaz. Cash.

isn't the plaza a hotel/condo sorta thing where the residences are like long-term hotel, but not technically 'permanent' residences?

Also, isn't the Plaza's garbage-room notorious for 'kidnapping' old, pretentious egg-toting rich women?

i think the plaza converted some to legit condos and not the residential hotel style where you can only live 11 months or whatever.

im tired of all this ballyhoo about Spitzer and his prostitute! hes a politician and the set he belongs to is expected to be the paradigm of what a model citizen should be, yes, but we already know that this is the biggest piece of BS ever. and who cares if he spent money on prostitutes? there werent any evidence whatsoever that he used govt funds anyway. on top of this, why cant a man enjoy his privacy and not be able to afford prostitutes if he so wants to? he holds a high profile job w/ a lot of pressures involved, its natural that he has to decompress at times. and whatever it is he does to decompress whether getting a bj or an hj, etc. is his own business. too bad he got caught!

To be fair, she left the egg in her apartment. She didn't take it with her to the garbage room - she's not crazy or anything. The picture of her cradling the egg was pretty great though.

As was said, the Plaza is selling apartments now. Even if he was smoking his best stuff, no way Jimmy Cayne throws down 28 for a long term rental.

@4:17 - as has already been said ad naseum, this would all be fine and dandy if Spitzer didn't PROSECUTE PROSTITUTION RINGS WHILE GOING TO ONE HIMSELF.

It's nice to hear that Jimmy Cayne has some cash left. I bet there's plenty Bear Stearns employees who wish they could get their hands on some cash right about now. Those Bear Stearns stock options don't pay the bills.
