When Donald Trump launched a mortgage company a couple of years back it was a sure sign that the mortgage business was heading for serious trouble. Now that he says that America is doomed by $125 oil, we're thinking that's a powerful contrary indicator. Maybe the worst really is behind us?
(By the way, our nerds IT folks were moving around some wires this afternoon, and comments got disabled. Should be back up now.)

Bonus Bumper? When?

Trump is blowhard. Has anyone asked themselves why someone worth billions of dollars (the number he claims is always twice the number any reputable publication prints) is whoring himself on TV for $10 mil or $20 mil a year? Anyone think that book that claimed he was only worth something like $350 mil had any merit?

Last time I used Trump as a contrarian indicator, I shorted Cattle Futures after the introduction of Trump Steaks. I'm in the hurt locker now.

"I would also tax the oil companies into oblivion...I would tax the hell out of the oil companies."
-Donald Trump
So you can reduce the price of a commodity by taxing the firms that supply it? I guess I don't understand because I'm not a genius like Donald Trump. It could be because I took econ, though.

I wish the Donald was still doing commercials for Pizza Hut.
He just seemed so much more at home there than he does in any sort of legitimate business enviroment.

Donald Trump is living proof that luck beats intelligence and skill.

I'm sure there are tenants of his that would love the Feds to tax the hell out of real estate partnerships, or even put a tax on silicone tit implants. That would hit the entire family.

Was it Pizza Hut or Domino's? Either way, it shows you how effective the ad was. At any rate, he got paid, and I'd rather be lucky than smart.

Donald Trump wouldn't be shit without his father.

Trump may be the only man who can consistently run a legal printing press (i.e. Casino) into the ground repeatedly, yet concurrently be praised (by some?) as a business genius. Better lucky than good indeed!

I am so happy to learn that others share my low opinion of Donald Trump. Wilbur Ross sure seemed to be beside himself with glee on CNBC this morning over Trump and his opinions. Trump seemed to think that it would be easy for the President of the U.S. to call up members of OPEC directly and jawbone down oil prices. Q. Aren't we having a few diplomatic problems with Iraq, Venezuela, and Ecuador to begin with?

In the previous post, I meant Iran instead of Iraq.

5:14 It can't have been that effective if no one remembers whether it was a Domino's or Pizza Hut ad.
