So whatever happened to Lindsay Campbell? We hadn’t seen her since she left WallStrip, so we were worried when we heard that she’d recently been arrested. It turns out that Campbell brought her new show for CBS’s digital branch, MobLogic, to last week’s protests of the acquittal of the policemen who shot and killed Sean Bell. As the police tried to clear out the traffic-blocking protestors, Campbell opted to be arrested along with the protesters.
Supposedly Campbell’s decision to become one of the protesters rather than just report on them is raising a big discussion about rules of journalism and the proper roles of journalists. As most of you know, we’re terribly bored by such rules and roles. But we never get bored by watching Campbell.
After the jump, watch what happens when you leave the Street to join the mob. You get arrested.

And the relevance of that to Finance is … ???

  2. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 4:19 PM

you have obviously not seen her nip shots on her website. They make her relevant to everything.
Thank you John Carney for reminding me to go look at them again.

Nice catch with the cuffs on by Lindsay!

Lindsay Campbell is useless. Why give her even two additional minutes of coverage on db? Exposure is all she wants. Face time on some TV news show might enhance her career somehow.
She should also get some clothes that fit. She looks rough.

thanks lindsay for wasting our tax payer dollars
    thanks sharpton for evading taxes

    @ 4:24
are you suggesting that Lindso and Timmay should get together?

  8. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 4:48 PM

she is a self indulgent, not to mention self absorbed, piece of garbage…I have seen high school journalism with more depth..why oh why, db, would you bother giving her airtime??? she has nothing to do with finance..

    that cheese sandwich looked tasty.

  12. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 4:58 PM

I liked her better when she was in The Sopranos…

  13. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 5:07 PM

i was pretty bummed when lindsay left wallstrip, but her new show has grown on me. can’t say i agree with everything she does (the show’s sort of a soapbox for her personal opinions), but it’s more refreshing than all the spin and sensationalism of major media.

So glad Lindsay knows more than the jury without all the trouble of having to listen to depositions or examine the evidence.
Media members are in favor of…trial by media. What are the odds?!?

Is it wrong to get turned on by the sight of Lindsay Campbell in cuffs? She looks like she’s been a very bad, naughty girl.

  16. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 5:26 PM

The police got the wrong man, they should have shot Sharpton.

  17. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 5:36 PM

    guest@5:26PM,
HaHaHa!!! That’s the best posting I’ve seen on db all week.
    I totally agree.

  18. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 5:49 PM

    I’d hit it.

  19. Posted by guest | May 13, 2008 at 5:57 PM

So you’ve gotten one – What’s the dirt on the other Wallstrip chick, Julie?

  20. Posted by Bulging Bracket | May 13, 2008 at 5:59 PM

Another cute girl with horrible politics.
I’ll gladly add her to my collection of vegans, vegetarians, and protestaholics.
    5:26 won the thread!

Ok, so the U.S. gov’t currently holds 400,000 innocent political prisoners, most of them African-American, on drug prohibition violations…and nobody seems to care.
…but some drunken idiot gets shot while ramming his car into a cruiser full of cops, and Sharpton & followers throw a total hissy fit, aimed at “shutting down NY city”.
Sharpton’s priority list is even more fucked up than his hairdo.

Rumor has it she’s knocked up. She asked somewhere who her baby’s daddy is.

  25. Posted by Investorcluzo | May 13, 2008 at 8:51 PM

@7:14 – now you know it’s about publicity. this is dialou (sp?) all over again. sharpton “calling out” the cops of nyc (yet again) for excessive use of force (yes, one of them was african american). it should also be noted, one of the cops was in the strip club! I’m not going to pass judgment here, but I will say this about big al – he picks his battles where he knows he will get the most bang for his buck…anyone know how he gets funded?

  26. Posted by counterclockwise | May 13, 2008 at 9:09 PM

Hey, Cluzo! Glad to see you back posting again. The guy shot in the earlier controversy was named Amadou Diallo. I thought two of the three cops involved in the Sean Bell incident are African-Americans. Sharpton does indeed aim for maximum publicity and I wish I knew the source of his funding.
For awhile, Sharpton was an informer for the FBI concerning some matters in the record business. I don’t know if the FBI ever paid him money for his information. Of course, Sharpton didn’t pay taxes for a period of time because he claimed he had no income. Since he was evicted for non-payment of rent around the same time, he probably did have some money problems.

Bet she just wanted some o’dat long chocolate bar action.
Send the bimbo back where she came from

Oh how the tides have turned! You all (myself included) loved LC forever. We derided the switch to Julie A. And now we treat her like an airplane without a dance partner.
    Sell, Mortimer…Sell!

  29. Posted by Investorcluzo | May 13, 2008 at 11:44 PM

@10:43 – at the risk of sounding biased or self-effacing, no comment.
@onetwo – slow down. I’m not sure we “loved” her, but we did like some of those outfits. perhaps we loved making fun of her. that said, she is way ahead of julie! btw, what’s an airplane without a dance partner?
one more thing, when is my big fat italian dinner with “girl” gonna’ happen? did she go out with the “assimilated negro” and get all confused?

  30. Posted by guest | May 14, 2008 at 9:48 AM

    Hit dat sheeeet.

  31. Posted by guest | May 14, 2008 at 10:22 AM

She used to be more fun. But still smoking hot.

  32. Posted by guest | May 15, 2008 at 12:18 AM

Her syntax annoys me. Also, please someone send her to journalism school.

  33. Posted by guest | May 15, 2008 at 10:30 AM

Whoever’s debating her journalistic integrity needs to get his facts straight. Lindsay is not a journalist. She’s an actress. If she feels like publicly protesting she has every ethical right. I think Pulitzer would agree.

Another example of why web “news” shows are a joke. How does anyone take any of this stuff seriously? This was a complete and total embarrassment. As a former reporter, it made me wretch.
