Time to add another notch to Angelo Mozilo's body count belt. Nothing official yet, but considering his track record with epidermis, Bear Stearns, bees and a chihuahua, this one's pretty much in the bag. Today's kill is Ed McMahon, who's might lose his Beverly Hills home to a foreclosure action initiated by Countrywide, because EMcM's been unable to make payments due to a year and a half of all bed rest/no work resulting from breaking his neck. The silver lining is that we're told this may actually be Mozilo's breaking point, in terms of giving a shit. Up until now, he hasn't cared much either way about the lives he's ruined. But as someone who watched "Star Search" religiously, the plight of Ed McMahon will be hard for him to ignore.
Yeah. Let that sink in.

let's all pause for a moment and ask ourselves: a) why isn't the house paid off, was johnny keeping all the big bucks? b) why the hell is this man still working at the age of 85? and, c) just what caused him to break his neck? I think he's trying to be a little too active for a man of his age/stature (look at poor dick clark). perhaps he should just retire to the villages...

Yes, this story just begs for further examination. When did Ed buy this home? and why? did he think the previous mansion was getting kind of cramped with all those publishers clearinghouse envelopes piling up or something?
What happens when Ed McMahon shows up for a home closing, anyway? Does he come into the room first, so he can say, "and heeee-ere's my lawyer!"?

Ham, I'm 100% serious! Granted i may be 1/2 the age required to get in (+/-), and i'd eventually get tired of having an AWESOME LIFE (not), but otherwise, its really honest. Why the F don't they have places like that for young(er) people?

Anal_yst, it really worries me that you aspire to a leisure community/golf course style of life designed for people 55+. There's a lot more richness in life out there.
Anyone on this site ever see the movie Harold and Maude? It's a bizarre classic. It strikes me that there are a number of Harolds posting on this site, men who have a fixation on older, sometimes much older, women. (I don't mean you, necessarily, Anal_yst. I'm changing the subject.)
I am still blown away by posts some time back from guys that I assume were in their 20s and 30s, fantasizing about sex with Barbara Walters or Martha Stewart. Ask any hair-stylist, plastic surgery up close isn't pretty. There's a good reason those women wear their hair in styles combed around their face.
