Greenlight v. LEH

Since the Times went there, and it’s far too early this morning to discuss the actual business angle of this story, just answer me this. Who would win in a street fight:

Picture 22.png
The Jew or The Shrew? The Snitch or The Bitch? The Petty or The Betty? She wears shoes that could poke an eye out, but he’s got that badass sweater. So this is hard.
Lehman Battles an Insurgent Investor [NYT]
*I don’t really think she’s a “bitch” or a “shrew,” this was strictly about rhymes. I invite you to do better.

That is a horrific picture of Erin. Wow. Bad lighting strikes again.
    P.S. My money’s on her.

  2. Posted by Investorcluzo | June 4, 2008 at 11:11 AM

@blndebnker – you’re right, that picture is horrendous. reminds me of the old leathery beyatch from “there’s something about mary”…xionx!

bess, you can do better. at a minimum, you should put up the picture of of big d in the sweater to even the playing field.

  3. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:12 AM

Bess, I thought you had more class than this. How dare you post such a pic of the almighty Erin…I am all for a little friendly competition but that’s just uncalled for! Did you really have to superimpose B. Arthur’s face on her body?

  4. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:13 AM

cluzo– click the ‘badass sweater’ link.

  5. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:14 AM

@11:12– that is the times graphic. hence, “the times went there.” try and keep up.

  6. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:21 AM

@11:14- I wipe my ass with the times

  7. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:23 AM

Round three – he pinches her nose shut and stuffs his toupee in her mouth. She slaps the canvas in submission. Fight over.

  8. Posted by blndebnker | June 4, 2008 at 11:25 AM

@Cluzo – TOTALLY Magda from Something About Mary. My God the fact that Erin allows such a photo of herself to be circulated publicly astounds me.

  9. Posted by HAM05 | June 4, 2008 at 11:31 AM

hate to bring this up again, but she is STILL hotter than the monsters on my floor

  10. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:34 AM

can anyone answer the god damn question? here’s mine: erin. hands down.

  11. Posted by blndebnker | June 4, 2008 at 11:36 AM

@HAM – Seriously Ham? That bad? That’s awful.
@11:34 – Check out the first response, trigger.

  12. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:37 AM

@11:23: A toupee, really? I will have to change sides in this fight then.

  13. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:39 AM

Shrew indeed. Fake blond hair and that running-around-the-block-with-a-water-bottle-spandex look. I don’t think she’ll survive the next few LEH Board meetings.

  14. Posted by mktmkr | June 4, 2008 at 11:42 AM

She’s a couple of trips to the tanning salon away from being Mozillo’s twin.

  15. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:54 AM

She’s not a good substitute for a proper company front-man. She looks too much like a cartoon character, and with all that TV celebrity and fashionista business, she is having difficulty being taken seriously by investors. Credibility is not her thing.

  16. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 11:59 AM

She is quite impressive in person… Taller than you would think.

  17. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 12:13 PM

    11:59: how’s her rack?

  18. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 12:15 PM

Is it just me or does Erin look like The Joker…

  19. Posted by blndebnker | June 4, 2008 at 12:21 PM

In that picture, a little like that Runaway Bride from Georgia with the crazy eyes.

  20. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 12:25 PM

I’d like to see her go the way of Zoe Cruz; that is, out of the newz.

  22. Posted by mrpink | June 4, 2008 at 1:29 PM

    i kinda like erin…. she’s hot…
    then again, i haven’t slept in 48 hours… bleh.

  23. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 1:35 PM

    mrpink@1:29,
What have you been doing? You’re not working, are you?

  24. Posted by Anal_yst | June 4, 2008 at 1:36 PM

If it makes you feel any better Mr. P, I got around 3 hours of “sleep” last night, may very well still be able to rack up an impressive score on a breathalyzer, and am running into a 3+ hour meeting that promises to be the most boring thing ever conceived by man. What i’m saying is that, I 1)think erin is kinda hot in that older cougar-ish sorta way, and 2)feel your pain bro

  25. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 1:48 PM

I don’t care what you guys say; I think Einhorn is hot.

  26. Posted by big r | June 4, 2008 at 1:50 PM

    einhorn!

  27. Posted by diablo | June 4, 2008 at 1:59 PM

BTW, this NYT piece says to me that LEH has already setup Erin as the fall girl.
Her lawyer should intervene and start renegotiating her exit terms.

Certainly not the most pretty face but the phrase “Beauty is only a light switch away” comes to mind.

  29. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 2:25 PM

2nd sentence: Einhorn is a “rabble rouser” and Lehman is being “pilloried.”
    Jesus. Slant much, Louise?
Once you get that far, it’s pretty clear the rest of the opinion piece, er, “story” is pretty much going to be junk.
It’s practicaly a TMZ article, not financial journalism. Where’s the shot of Callans knickers to go along with it?

    @ 1:35-
No, no worky. I’m flying out here in a little bit to that lovely city they call Chicago for an interview tomorrow..

  31. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 3:03 PM

    @mrpink Citadel?

  32. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 3:06 PM

    @mrp : Please don’t say LaSalle…

  33. Posted by mrpink | June 4, 2008 at 3:22 PM

    LOL.. LaSalle… hahahah Nope…
This will be back in my old stomping grounds, the Financials room at the CBOT/MidAM.
Citadel – nope… I don’t think I’d want to work for them anyway. Might get on Loeb and Dimon’s bad side.
I know there’s been a considerable debate raging about Chi vs. NY. I prefer NY better, but hey… I have to go where the $$$$ is. And, if I can get paid my NY salary in Chi, all the better. I can actually get a place with a freaking view of the lake and not the fat Value Stock Tips dude in the window across from mine.
Of course, I’m keeping all the options open… I think that’s the prudent thing to do in these times.

  34. Posted by Investorcluzo | June 4, 2008 at 3:42 PM

    @3:06 – I thought bofa bought lasalle.
@mrp – good luck with the interview. the one thing chicago has on nyc is airport traffic. between ord and lga, you’ll feel like you never left.

  35. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 3:46 PM

    Bofa did buy Lasalle

  36. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 3:47 PM

Einhorn IS a rabble rouser. Thats not bias that is just good reporting.

  37. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 3:49 PM

    diablo@1:59,
LEH would be foolish to renegotiate Erin’s exit package, unless they can cut it down.
Just fire her skinny ass for cause: dereliction of her duties as CFO. Give her nothing but a cardboard box and a security escort out the door. And be ugly about it. She deserves no less.

  38. Posted by guest | June 4, 2008 at 3:52 PM

If I talk up my long positions I’m cool, but if I talk up my shorts, I’m rousing rabble?
    oohhhh-kaaayyyyyy….

  43. Posted by guest | June 5, 2008 at 4:00 AM

Lehman & Erin are going down like a Pi Phi on a Saturday night.
    Suck some on it bitches.

  44. Posted by guest | June 5, 2008 at 4:46 AM

there’s pretty valid fear that leh is not doing well. ask some clients of leh. the other thing is that at least bear had their prime brokerage unit that some people were interested in buying. what does leh have? fuld and callen.
though in this round erin is going to win because einhorn and the others have been criticizing them for so long that they’ve had plenty of time to go back and cook up their books.

  45. Posted by diablo | June 5, 2008 at 7:51 AM

Well, if they are cooking their books, then leaks to Gasparino should be investigated by the SEC. Read this:
    http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2008/06/dirty-tricks-at-lehman-and-defense-of.html

  46. Posted by guest | June 5, 2008 at 7:55 AM

Its ironic how many of you have trouble balancing a check book, yet feel obliged to accuse LEH of cooking their books.

  47. Posted by guest | June 5, 2008 at 9:21 AM

@4:46 interesting comment since cash payout from prime brokerage are what eventually did bear in, no?
what does leh have? how about global equities, ib, and asset management platforms?
the standalone value of Neuberger Berman’s $300bn AUM is worth more than BSC’s entire final selling price.
