TD Bank Denies Scaring ESPN Columnist

Remember that story about the ESPN columnist who was cowed by TD Bank into calling the Boston Garden by its official, ugly corporate name, “TD Banknorth Garden.” Well, we just heard from TD Bank and they say they never contacted Bill Simmons.
This can only mean one two things. Firstly, people are totally writing phony emails! Secondly, Simmons can go back to referring to the sports complex as “Whatever The Hell The Garden Is Called.”

    Yes, I remember the story about “the ESPN columnist.” I also recall reading something about “the President of the United States” and “the Democratic Candidate for President, Who Is also Black.”
