I’m an NY’er, but can honestly say that the summer scene in Charlotte is pretty sweet. There is a big lake about 20 minutes outside of the city, and on weekends in the summer everyone goes to this one spot and ties up boats and just hangs out and drinks beer all day. I was out there last summer visiting a friend and there were literally hundreds of boats tied up, and countless nearly nude southern women hanging around. If you can get past the accents and the roided up Nascar rednecks its actually pretty awesome. Its certainly better than the loser wannabee rich people flaunting it on the east end.
