Whether you're looking for employment or just ass in the vicinity of Grand Central, take note: a male temp'ing tipster informs us that "there are high grade women to be found in Barclays' investment bank." And no, we did not send one of our interns to a temp agency so that he might sample the offerings at the various banks around town for your benefit, though now that I mention it, that's not such a bad idea.

Barclays does have an IBD--they just don't do M&A (well, they didn't do M&A in the past but have decided to start building it out).

Barclays Capital is the investment bank....

im in the ubs back office and the women here could feed milkbones to the ones in the front office... but thats not saying much. still, good prospects: AAA at least, some major leaguers on rehabilitation

How can BarCap be an investment bank? They don't do advisory, equities and haven't underwritten any bond offering since Margaret Thatcher was PM.

Have a friend who went to Barcap from Goldman, apparently their Lev Fin group in NY is a bunch of Goldman guys and they hired CSFB's Head of LA office and his team. With real guys in Lev Fin they started hiring bankers from CSFB, BofA, Lehman, not just investment grade DCM guys.
