BeachComber: The Weekend Started Yesterday

summerinternships.jpgWorn out by another ugly week in the markets? Don't worry, you still have time to sign up for BeachComber, DealBreaker's summertime email-only special newsletter. Even if you missed the first two editions, by now you've probably heard DealBreaker launched a weekly newsletter focused on escaping work and engaging in leisure, especially in the Hamptons. Every Friday afternoon we'll update you on the expected weather, traffic and parties you'll be encountering in the East Egg of the twenty-first century. We might throw in a couple of links to business stories too.

The third edition of BeachComber will published over email in a few minutes. Sign up below by simply entering your email address. It's free!

(Also, if there's anything you'd like to see--such as league tables for nightclubs, Further Lane party invitation origami--let us know. We'll be happy to oblige.)

We've done our best to spam proof BeachComber but some spam-blockers are very aggressive. If you signed up but haven't been getting it, send me a personal email and I'll forward it your way.

Will there be a list of the closest mayo wholesalers?

Posted by guest, Jul 03, 2008 12:41PM

Only complete tools go to the Hamptons.

Posted by guest, Jul 03, 2008 12:46PM

@12:41,
And the complete fags go to Nantucket & Provincetown.

@ 12:41

I'm not an expert (maybe GAnalYst can confirm if he wasn't MIA), but I'm pretty sure you're thinking of rehobeth and/or myrtle beach in terms of gayness

Posted by mrpink, Jul 03, 2008 1:06PM

No no, P-Town is pretty gay... So is Ogunquit, ME and Fire Island (Cherry Grove and the Pines)

-mrp

Actually, i'm back on FI Pines this weekend (sat/sun) woohoo let the gay-o flow!

John,

I hate the Hamptons but enjoy reading about weather, traffic and parties. Is this newsletter for me?

Posted by Anal_yst, Jul 03, 2008 4:30PM

Posted by guest, Jul 03, 2008 4:36PM

what's the point of sending this out by email? Just post it on the site, jackass.

And yes, I'm angry because I'm the only one left in the office this afternoon.

Posted by Anal_yst, Jul 03, 2008 4:39PM

@ 4:36

I hope everyone had as great a weekend as I did. Since some here seem new to the NYC weekend summer scene, here's an extremely brief guide for what you will find:

Hamptons: Financial services sheep of all ranks, cougers, guidos, second home owners who resent the weekend crowds.

P-town, Fire Island: Gays.

Jersey Shore: Guidos, SpitzWhores, first home owners who resent the weekend crowds.

NYC: Eurotrash/tourists, poors, guidos, the insane.

Berkshires: Hippies, older art/music lovers, bored kids.

NY/VT/NH mountains: Outdoorsy types with flexible schedules/their own plane.

PA, Catskills: Wannabe rusticators, ethnic festival goers.
