While the work is extremely tedious and, in the grand scheme of things, well, as ungrand as it gets, it is a necessary evil to make sure the data is right, the model is right, the assumptions are at least remotely tested, blah blah blah. Hence, having the relationships to consumate a deal may drive flow, but if you don't have the foundation, you've got no deal (or just a bad deal)
