The most important thing Bearpont Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon said on record to Charlie Rose? “I hate it when I hear about kids working through the night.” Take this tacit approval of you moseying on out of the office at 5 and run with it.

    He didn’t have an issue with them working through the night, it is expected/required. He doesn’t want to hear about it, just like I hate it when my kids started yammering about how much homework they have.

    He said that he hates hearing that kids are working through the night on meaningless work, not working through the night in general.

    @2:22
    While the work is extremely tedious and, in the grand scheme of things, well, as ungrand as it gets, it is a necessary evil to make sure the data is right, the model is right, the assumptions are at least remotely tested, blah blah blah. Hence, having the relationships to consumate a deal may drive flow, but if you don’t have the foundation, you’ve got no deal (or just a bad deal)
