At least four subsidiaries of SemGroup filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy today, after determining that seeking government protection from creditors would be the “the best way to maximize value,” unlike the oil trades that resulted in $3.2 billion in losses. SemGroup Energy began hinting that something was up last week, when it said that the parent company was experiencing liquidity “issues,” those being that they were drier than Bear Stearns (was rumored to have been). In more uplifting news, we’ve got Fox Business’s “Happy Hour” on and it seems that Cody, currently interviewing Miss Universe 2008 about being kidnapped, has made a speedy recovery from his bout with bell’s palsy.

    not too sure myself, but i imagine its an affliction that causes your sac to turn a festive pink with lili pulitzer-green paisleys where your veins would be. almost as if there were an actual party in your pants.

    @hambones
    i think referring to lili pulitzer automatically means you have the disease.

    Learning that SemGroup is now in the shitter is one of the best news items I’ve heard today. They should have paid more attention to what’s been going on in Washington lately. I’m glad they didn’t.

    Where is Mark (fish boy) Hunter when we need him? Clearly the loss is not big enough.

    Like Hunter and Amaranth, SemGroup got taken out by their primary broker. JP Morgan and Citadel made at least $1 billion on Hunter’s book, wonder how much Barclay’s is going to make?
