Until today, there was only one Steven Rattner most people on Wall Street knew about. He had been hailed as one of the most important investment bankers of his generation when he was with Lazard Frères & Co. in the 1990s. In 2000 he left to join three other Lazard alums to form the Quadrangle Group, which quickly became a private equity powerhouse.
And now he’s fielding calls because another Wall Streeter named Steven Rattner is splashed across the business pages of the New York Times in a story about how his extra-marital affair with a married woman resulted in an internet smear campaign by the jilted husband and, eventually, cost him his job, according to Andrew Ross Sorkin of the New York Times.
“I’ve gotten people calling up in a panic,” he tells Sorkin. “I had to tell them it wasn’t me.”
It wasn’t me. Spoken like a true player.

Ironic that the real Steve Rattner started out as a cub reporter at the Times before he became a gansa macher.
I guess the lesson is: if your name is Steven Rattner, get the hell out of the Times.

Steven Rattner and Steven Rattner must merge in order to survive.

Now BP isn’t exactly a finance firm, but they have a serious trading operation so this should count: they are cutting off free fruit as a cost-saving exercise http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2503560/Free-fruit-ditched-as-BP-tightens-its-belt.html
Record profits AND belt tightening? BP are apparently even bigger d-bags than the banks. At least the banks wait until they’re actually facing lower revenues or profits to engage in stupid cost cutting like axing free fruit.

my bad on the double post, d’oh
Agreed with #10, but what would a Ratner^2 look like, exactly?

Had some dealings with CSFB Steve some years ago. Decent guy as Inv Bankers go. Can’t minimize cheating on his wife, but he has tried to make it right. He has done way more than most to fix the error of his ways.
Shame he could not be allowed to deal with it privately, but I am sure he will be fine in time.

Well i hate to break Anal_yst’s bubble, but I didnt know sh was a hooker and i certainely didnt knowe she was having an additional 3 affairs.
I have to thank Rattner, because he had her followed and investigated, thereby revealing all the details
and after all she put him through, she didnt even love him, it was always about the money
these truths were submitted as a sworn affidavit into the Australian Federal Magistrates Court with supporting documents during divorce proceedings
