richmarinonfacebooksmall.JPGJust on Facebook and not as a movie critic, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. It appears as though he signed up less than a month ago but the former Bear Stearns Asset Management chair is wasting no time. He’s amassed 66 friends*, a marginally impressive number for someone born in 1954, a decent amount of wall posts, and has added the ‘mood’ and ‘drinks’ applications (though, disappointingly has not yet received any beverages. Be the first to buy this deserving man a shot). Oddly, the Pointwalk Solutions Network founder failed to list BSC in his work history but surely that was an oversight to be rectified posthaste. Former Bears– think of this as an opportunity to reconnect! The rest of you– think of this as the first step in a series of escalating dares the conclusion of which will be you losing tons of money!

he’s not on aSW. That’s where he should be…

  2. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 12:30 PM

Curiously, I did not see Warren Spector, Jay-Cay, or those crazy knuckleheads, Cioffi & Tannin listed among his friends. I predict some hurt feelings here …

He should be poked to “the pokey”, that is.

  4. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 12:37 PM

Maybe FaceBook should start a new group: “Disgraced CEOs”

  5. Posted by Anal_yst | August 5, 2008 at 12:37 PM

You’d think someone of his stature (and previous movie-critic embarrassment) would have taken the time to play around with the privacy controls, but, alas…

i glanced quickly and thought it was the dude that makes the radical buy Goldman stock recommendations. I was let down.
    Does Megan’s law include facebook?

#5 — but don’t you see? This underscores his consistency! This is the very same oversight that he employed whilst at the helm of the imploding hedge funds. Priceless!

Let’s do a quick search: Thain, Fuld, O’Neal, Blankfein, Dimon, Cayne … this could be a gold mine of material!

  9. Posted by Anal_yst | August 5, 2008 at 12:50 PM

Ok can we focus on what appears to be his daughter, one Kim Grogg Marin, in his top friends? Where is the coverage on that minx, rawrr!

  10. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 12:51 PM

anal_yst– no, check the wall post– it’s definitely his wife.

  11. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 12:53 PM

let’s get a little attention to detail, anal_yst. “kim grogg marin” was born in 1958, 4 years after rich. and her message to him was: “I love you back….with all my heart!”

It doesn’t look like he’s lost that much weight. I guess all that time he’s had to sit at home and eat ShackBurgers made him slip on his previous diet!

By my count, Kim is his 3rd or 4th wife. (he chased a lot of young tail whilst at BSAM at the height of his girth, no less)
I will spare you the (very) gory details that his inner circle was subjected to in meetings and shared with the rest of us over shots of Clorox (to bleach the scarring images from our brains)

Talk about attention to detail…who the fuck is that naked kid on his comments section drinking milk? One Will Sheridan, looking for an uncle and some weekend research? Very suspect.

I heard the 6 degrees of separation experiment was partially funded by Princeton University. Some really groundbreaking shit going on there!

@BSD– not, it’s definitely still open, I just checked it. You need to be in the New York network, however, unless you’re friends with him.

  20. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 1:10 PM

Still hefty. Should lay off the mayo, perhaps?

  21. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 1:11 PM

    genius @18, of course that’s not dick fuld’s profile, because it’s not a profile. it’s a group.

  22. Posted by guest | August 5, 2008 at 1:11 PM

$20 bucks to the first one to “poke” him –

    “Charles Li wrote at 8:13am
Thanks to last year’s “Black Swan” event, we have you to teach us two classes here at Johnson. One man’s loss turned out to be hundreds’ gain. Thank you Rich!”
One man’s loss? I bet the 7,000+ that lost their jobs at BSC would have something to say about that!

  24. Posted by HAM05 | August 5, 2008 at 1:20 PM

first the montauk monster, and now this guy who has 6 photos and 66 friends. what. the. fuck.

  25. Posted by Anal_yst | August 5, 2008 at 1:24 PM

Is it not creepy that these mid 50-year old husband/wife exchange very public affection for each other via facebook?

Now he's back on the internet in an even bigger way. He's got a new movie review blog that has a slant towards the hedge fund world. http://www.pickingyourseat.com Definately worth a read!
