Say It To His Face

IMG_2938.jpg
Geoffrey Raymond, the greatest artist of our time, will be displaying his latest masterpiece tomorrow behind Goldman Sachs (near the service entrance?) and Wednesday at the NYSE. For those of you who’ve got something to get off your chests, the rules are as follows: blue pens for Dems, red pens for Repubs, invisible ink for Ron Paul supporters.

  2. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 6:02 PM

Oh, I get it…because no one cares about Ron Paul, right? Good one, Bess. Hooray for more government in our lives!!

  3. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 7:01 PM

@2 – sounds like you’re one step away from shooting yourself in the head. Buck up, buddy. Things will be alright.

  4. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 7:08 PM

just use mayo if you’re independent.

  5. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 8:10 PM

Bess as someone who actually works on wall st as opposed to blogging about it, I can tell you that many many finance profesionals are Libertarians. Rather then make fun of Ron Paul, who raised more cash online then Dealbreaker ever will, it would do you some good to learn about economics so u might be able to make actual arguments rather then just stupid quips. Start by reading Hayek and Mises…

  6. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 8:37 PM

I hope Clinton pulls a Ron Paul at the last minute and runs in vain giving the victory to McCain so we can continue to spend a billion or so a day in the Middle East.

  7. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 8:47 PM

@5- what makes you think she gives a shit about what Ron Paul does for wall street? also, if you Paulites want to be taken more seriously you should really buy a sense of humor.

  8. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 9:10 PM

5- you are an arrogant douche. does anyone know what MD numbers are?

  9. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 9:51 PM

can we focus all of this bitter energy on finding one of james earl ray’s relatives? Someone out there has to be interested in keeping up family traditions, right?
    Plus, you’ll be famous.

  10. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 9:55 PM

    @ 9 you’re an idiot..even in jest

  11. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 10:03 PM

@ 9 is worse than an idiot. STFU and hide yourself away in shame. That’s not the democratic way — democratic with a small “D” — to settle things. I hope you get yourself investigated.
Btw, James Earl Ray was not only a racist killer, he was a coward, a liar, and a lifelong criminal.
Did anyone see Ted Kennedy’s appearance? You have to give the old guy credit for not only getting himself to the convention but also speaking.

  12. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 10:05 PM

@5 it would do you some good to learn about grammar before you try to sound educated. “Than” is a conjunction typically used in comparisons, while “then” is an adverb. Can you name more than (notice proper usage)one prominent financier who is openly a Libertarian? I didn’t think so.

  13. Posted by guest | August 25, 2008 at 10:14 PM

@11 you just lost all credibility that you (might have) had by mentioning Teddy K. Have you seen Mary Jo Kopechne recently? I didn’t think so. Loser.

  14. Posted by Anal_yst | August 26, 2008 at 12:57 AM

Non-psycho (see Paul, Ron, for example) libertarianism is pretty popular on/around the Street, unfortunately in practice such is not the case, sigh…

  15. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 1:04 AM

also, 5, if a minor joke about your “party” causes you to fly off the deep end…

  16. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 1:09 AM

5- since when does bess not make fun of something just because it’s one of your “passions”? if anything i think it only encourages her more.

  17. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 2:29 AM

5-i don’t give a shit what your political persuasions are– don’t be be one of those assholes who says “do yourself a favor and read [insert book of choice here].”

Ron Paul, stop commenting as Guest on the message board.

  19. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 8:26 AM

    NoBama!

  20. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:00 AM

No. 13 – Mary Jo Kopechne’s death happpened over forty years ago. Do you believe in forgiveness and redemption?
Now Kennedy’s dying of cancer. Say what you will about his politics, he’s been a witness to key moments in history. Allow people to remember what he and his brothers once meant.

  21. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:06 AM

    all obama, all the time.
doesn’t anyone know what happens when that happens?

  22. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:07 AM

    @ 20:
Forgiveness and redemption are inoperative apart from confession and pennance.
tears for Kennedy? how about tears for the young girl the drunken rich kid left drowning in his car than one night…

  23. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:34 AM

20 Whenever I hear the Mary Jo thing I’m reminded of a similar problem that Laura Bush had. I think in both cases, its best to just conclude that terrible accidents occured, feel sorrow for those involved and move on. Not let it be emplematic in any way of the individuals involved or their respective parties.

  24. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:46 AM

Ted Kennedy is emblematic of drunken hubris and riding the coattails of his dead brothers.
Sad to say Mary Jo Kopechne is emblematic of the entire Democrat party. They trusted in hubris. They ended up under a bridge.
That’s where they are headed with Obama and O-Biden. Underwater.

  25. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:49 AM

Oops! meant to say “emblematic of drunken debauchery . . .”
    My bad!

  26. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:53 AM

    20,
The old homeless guy who spends his days shitting his pants and screaming at people on the street has seen a lot of history too. Doesn’t mean I have to respect the guy. And in both cases, I don’t.
    That family meant nothing.

  27. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 9:54 AM

No. 23, ¿Laura Bush was left under a bridge to drown by a drunken over-privileged, under-achieving limousine liberal whose only thought was of the damage she would cause to his political career, rather than thinking of trying to save a drowning woman the way a normal person would and whose claim to fame was riding the coat tails of the dead?
When did this happen? I missed it.

  28. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 10:10 AM

Laura Bush, when 20 years old, ran a stop sign and killed a high school boy in a car accident. If I wanted to I could add about 20 adjectives to that sentence and it would sound like your quote about Ted Kennedy. But I won’t cause I’m not a looser.

  29. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 10:16 AM

Yeah 28, that plus the fact that there is no moral equivalence between an honor student and librarian running a stop sign and a drunk-driver running off a bridge.
Oh and it’s not spelled “looser,” loser.

  30. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Some accounts say Laura was drunk. And in fact she wasn’t a librarian at that time. And Ted was also an honor student. But again, I think none of it is any of our business, which is where you and I part. Oh, and I admit, spelling is not my strong point. Looser.

  31. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 10:47 AM

    #27: You are a DOUCHE.

  32. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 12:44 PM

    30,
Ted Kennedy has honored nothing but happy hour.
He got into Harvard as a legacy, was a C student in prep school, was expelled from Harvard for cheating. It goes on and on
To summarize: Are you fucking kidding me?

  33. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 12:49 PM

    Is that a picture of B-uh-uh-uh-rack Obam-uh-uh-ummm-uh??

  34. Posted by DS | August 26, 2008 at 3:26 PM

@32 – Well said. @28/30 – Whether that’s true or not Laura Bush has never run for office, Ted Kennedy has. So what exactly is your point?

  35. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 3:48 PM

34 My point is in both cases an unfortunate accident occured. That sort of thing is interesting only in a People Magazine sort of way and should therefore be put to rest and not be projected onto the political scene. Look carefully: in no place did I make any sort of judgement regarding either of them. You are however, based only on a selective viewing of one case of drunk driving. That’s just plain dumb.

  36. Posted by DS | August 26, 2008 at 4:52 PM

35 – That doesn’t answer my question at all. So you’re just comparing 2 random incidents that have nothing to do with each other? In Ted kennedy’s case he left a woman to die. Did Laura Bush flee the scene and not try to help the person at all while he was still alive? If you like Kennedy and Obama you should move to Cuba.

  37. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 5:13 PM

In both cases an unfortunate accident left someone dead. Despite what you’re suggesting (that EK could have dived in and saved MJ, that LB could have given mouth to mouth), in neither case could those that caused the accident have changed the outcome. If you don’t like either of their politics fine, but let it rest. What happened should not be an indightment of either individual.

  38. Posted by DS | August 26, 2008 at 5:39 PM

You’re right – it’s stupid to think that a person’s actions are a refelction of their character.

  39. Posted by guest | August 26, 2008 at 8:20 PM

DS: what do you of W then? An admitted though reformed drunk and cocaine addict? Or is the fact that he was lucky enough to not hit anyone during his binges enough for you to earn your admiration?

  40. Posted by guest | September 18, 2008 at 3:06 PM

Is Ted Kennedy smart enough understand anything? He cheats, lies and because he now has brain cancer, we are suppose to forget how dumb he is? I don’t think so.

Isn’t this artist fellow always drawing the has-beens?
If so, he’s right on the money: this is his last chance to get someone to pay for Obama’s portrait. Obambi’s career is finished.
