Stan O'Neal: Back. In. The. Game.

Maybe! The Financial Times reports that the former Merrill chief is considering taking a job at Vision Capital Advisors, a hedge fund and private equity group, working in investor relations. Nothing's official yet, though, and O'Neal is apparently weighing other offers including:

- role of the guy that gets dunked in the dunk tank at state fairs (dunkee?)

- teller at newly formed Bank of Merrill

- Charlie Gasparino's assistant

- Member of barbershop quartet comprised of Stan, Chuck Prince, Jimmy Cayne, and Dick Fuld

12

I WOULD SHORT "BLIND" CAPITAL ADVISORS. THAT IS, IF THE COMMUNIST COX @SEC DOESN'T BAN IT!!! STAN RUINED ONE OF THE GREATEST AND HISTORIC INVESTMENT BANKS OF OUR TIME. WHAT HE DID IS UNFORGIVABLE.

HE SHOULD BE PROSECUTED TO GIVE UP HIS BONUS MONEY THE PAST 10 YEARS AND GO TO PRISON FOR AT LEAST 5.

HE HAS DESTROYED SO MANY LIVES. I HAVE HAD FRIENDS WHOSE LIVES HAVE BEEN DEVESTATED AND ARE STILL RECOVERING.

YES, I WENT TO WHARTON. I LIVED ON 2020 WALNUT ST AT THE WANAMAKER HOUSE NEAR RITTENHOUSE SQUARE.

MAYBE I'LL SEE SOME ALUMS AT THE GLOBAL ALUMNI FORUM IN DUBAI ON 3/11/09 OR REUNION WEEKEND 5/16/09? I WONT BE ATTENDING BOGATA, COLUMBIA THE WEEK AFTER, NOR BEIJING, CHINA IN JUNE, DUE TO BUSINESS CONFLICTS.

I will never understand why failed CEOs with millions of dollars feel the need to return to the corporate world, hat in hand. Why not start a foundation, or at least fill a swimming pool with twenties and laze about all day?

If I ever amass that kind of wealth, I can tell you straight up that 12 hour days in the office will be very low on my list of priorities.

@13

Winthrop, I realize you are too stupid to operate complicated machinery, but the caps lock button is the one above the 'shift' key on the lower left side of your keyboard.

Quit whining about Stan taking your daddy's name off the door and just enjoy your life as a gadfly trustafarian.

@13,
Wanamaker House is for has-been's.

And apparently also for people who don't understand the "lock" part of caps lock.

i understand the guy ruled MER with an ironfist, but shit, am i the only one who thinks he's getting way too much of the f'in blame

recall, he tried a cmmrcl bank merger way before Thain capitulated

Why didn't you MER boys pull a MS 8 or some shit like that when it was clear he was hooked on this toxic shit

If he is a loser now, he was a loser at the all time high as well

Yeah, a little racism re ONeal goes a long way. Don't care too much for the shining doorknobs or the Driving Miss Daisy jokes. Find another aspect of his existence to ridicule.
