If the banks’ paper is worth $0. The bailout should be capitalized at $0.

So what happens when Nat City hits $0 today?

  7. Posted by guest | September 29, 2008 at 11:41 AM

They knew it needed to be more than $500B, but they knew if they went $750B it would be “three-quarters-of-a-trillion dollars!” until Hell wouldn’t have it, plus there would be all the Arthur jokes. So they clipped at $700B.
Makes as much sense as any other theory.

At this point a monkey throwing darts at an index board would prove about as accurate as the cream of the b-school crop….

Dr. Evil only wanted 1 million dollars to control the world, Treasury wants 700 billion.
    I’m calling bullshit.

So C is buying toxic shit, and diluting their shareholders and cutting their divie, so they are up 4%, and the only major financial stock green today. Ya that makes complete sense.
And WTF are they going to open WB? My C puts are sucking but my WB puts are stale prices.
    Ok rant mode off …

who should not complain, I am still green today, so its not like today hurts.

By the way, when did this place become the hip new hangout for the blue-collar schleps from the Yahoo/Google finance boards? Shouldn’t you peasants be delivering pizza rather than jerking off over the latest IBD news?

  13. Posted by guest | September 29, 2008 at 11:48 AM

@ 11 you are an idiot. You Madonna loving asshole.

    Dear # 13.
What is IBD? Where can I get some? Will it help me invest? Any hot tips for me? Instead of paying my mortgage I am going to play the stock market.

Anyone know what channel CNBC is on in Mobile? I need to do some day trading. Plenty of money to be made baby. Get rich or die tryin’ is my motto.

#22, listen to the farm report instead. Commodities trading is where all the real playas are going now that WS is under the microscope for a while. Plus, you can go out and burn a few fields to up the price, since you’re right there and all. It’s even in the Bible. If it was good enough for Samson, it’s good enough for you.

    Hay trading?
