AIG is either A. Trying to make its employees feel better about the fact that, thanks to Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, they'll no longer be enjoying stuff like facials, hunting trips, and everything else that makes life worth living or B. Adopting a dress code that reflects the prevailing sentiment over on Pine Street of just not giving a fuck anymore.

"For the blind:"
Um... ever heard of a zoom lens? Did you take this photo as someone in an office building across the street read it?
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:12PM
@5- are you a dumbass? clearly someone took the pic and sent it to bess, and she did not take it herself.

When you can't hand out big bonuses because Big Brother has a big hard-on for you to fuck up, let them wear shorts!
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:15PM
@5 Probably taken with a camera phone which does not handle macro shots very well, if at all, without mods. Thanks for playing though.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:15PM
jorts acceptable?
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:17PM
Is it too liberal to let the cock fly about, or should it be gripped at all times?
Understanding casual dress policies is so damn hard!

This memo only applies AFTER you are fired, but BEFORE your severance package is exhausted. You’ve got to read the fine print, at the bottom (squint).

RE posts #6, 8, 12: DB can we seriously get a new server to stop this double posting BS?

That Cassano dude is walking around with a bull's eye on his pate. That NYT photo pretty much summed it up, scared sh*tless, guilty as hell and busted.
O'Reilly, you know who your next target is, if you can send your crack team to London that is!
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:30PM
Business casual for dudes is simple..
The ladies' business casual is something different ;p

How the hell does the NYT have the audacity to print something that is wrong on so many levels?
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:33PM
Well, when you are now part of the government you must dress the part.

I heard that the AIG CDS department only wears over-sized Scarface t-shirts.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:46PM
They sent me home for wearing my:
"My 6 year old is smarter than me, but I punch harder"
tee.
They are so fucking up tight.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:50PM
FP is (was) in CT and London, and they were always business casual. I guess Liddy figured that if it worked so well for them, why not go for it?
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 4:54PM
It's all about quality of life now, not those silly bonus checks that everyone is so uptight about

@25 Winner! We have a winner!
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 5:10PM
25, while facetious being is absolutely correct. Things like this, the cut in dinner amounts, coach travel, all point to Wall Street turning into your run-of-the-mill business. Was good while it lasted.

@15 After clicking the post comment button wait five seconds and then click your browser's refresh button. Double and triple posting occurs when you click the post comment button and you wait for the DB server to take its sweet Jesus time thus picking up a comment multiple times, as you know. Force it through with the refresh button. If you still don't see it then click the "home" tab, go back into the blog article and it should be there.

Business casual. Ha.

My wife works at AIG and told me that management sent another memo shortly after this one clarifying that it is business casual only on Fridays. This has got to be great for their employee's already deflated morale.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 6:32PM
There were rolling guffaws as that follow-up e-mail, aka 'Ooops, ignore that last one' hit inboxes.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 6:50PM
The picture was taken with an iPhone. If you save it and import it in iphoto you can see its capture data
more saavy dorks can get more info from the data but I doubt AIG has anyone capable of much

It is easier to carry boxes in Dockers...

"If you're not doing anything at work...Dress like it"
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 8:22PM
@31 is correct, they then sent a follow-up saying that it's Fridays only.
Idiots.
@33, would AIG really care? It's not like it's a secret or anything.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 8:28PM
@36- well perhaps they didnt send the follow up to db. regarding your point to @33- have you been living under a rock? every single firm is looking for any excuse to cut fat. leaking internal documents, no matter how mundane, would qualify.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 8:29PM
@36- the "idiots" would be AIG, then, for not even being able to send out a two sentence memo without fucking it up.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 10:28PM
Par for the course for the company with the strength to be there. I would not be surprised if the memo was erroneous because it was drafted the same way that that the tems most of its multi-hundred million dollar insurance facilities are drafted, on the back of a napkin at 3 PM on a Thursday at the Captain's Ketch over whiskies while hitting on a sub-MILF admin from Staten Island.
Posted by guest , Oct 22, 2008 10:34PM
Poor Cuomo - his first wife (a Kennedy) left him because another guy gave better facials. I wonder if this means he should recuse himself from any case involving facials.

they cant afford armani's with their bonuses freezing up.

Well if they are business casual it will save them from changing in the locker rooms of Morefar Golf Club.
Anybody know when Barney Frank and his buddy are going to turn that place into a national park with a golf course?
Oh forget it -- Barney Frank loves to watch Henry Waxman change in the locker
Posted by guest , Oct 23, 2008 12:50PM
Hey dumbasses about the hunting and armani suits that only applies to the upper management and super senior execs.
Us normal people at AIG dont get those perks and have never seen such things and for all of you idiots that stop us and say, "hey I own you now because my taxes paid for the bailout" newsflash Einstein we small people at AIG are tax payers as well and we are getting the short end of the stick!
Posted by guest , Oct 23, 2008 1:13PM
hey, I own you now because my taxes paid for you being an idiot
Posted by guest , Oct 23, 2008 1:20PM
yes everyone at AIG is an idiot because we all have the decision making power to but stocks on behalf of the company. Sure the floor admin assistant is also responsible for creating the credit rating systems. Why dont you blame the senior management and former CEOs you cannot blame an entire company. Even Jim Cramer admitted he was wrong but generalizing all of AIG employees.
