The Citi, Wachovia, Wells Fargo ceasefire ends this afternoon, and according to Charlie Gasparino, senior officials in Panditville claim a deal could be worked out today though the "situation is fluid" and Vikram Pandit is a capricious female who changes her mind whenever she wants. The deal would likely be some sort of split of WB between C and WFC. If an agreement is not reached, Gasparino claims, Citi will make good on its threats to sue Wells Fargo for $60 billion in damages.
Update: CNBC confirms Diablo's comment that the 3PM hearing on the dispute has been canceled and the standstill has been extended.

Markets will take care of this shit...C is getting hammered so WFC will just buy everything...they'll buy WB and they'll buy C also

Lil Vic has a better chance of a threesome with the Olsen twins tonight than winning the lawsuit against Wells.

3: That's really not a fair comparison. How much is the Vik-ing worth, anyway? Everything has a price and there aren't many things he can't buy. Sex with the Olsens probably wouldn't even empty his checking account.
Probably not high on his list anyway. Skinny little creeps, the pair of them.

@3 likes to give DB readers boners.

@4 - not saying it couldn't happen - all three are rich. Point was that he is not going to win the lawsuit.

HAH!! Citi's threat of a $60B lawsuit shows its desperation with its position. Their $$$ claim is ludicrous and Wells knows it. Wells clearly will prevail if it is not forced to bend by Federal regulators.

You know, some very intelligent poster put the solution on here yesterday. Looked good to me. A win/win for all. And the stockholders don't get screwed.
You guys ought to send that post to all the principles and make them read it and stop the BS and move along.

The best part of all this is that all monetary payouts will be entirely decided by the courts and the number that Citi actually sues for is largely irrelevant. They could have sued for whatever they wanted - $11 trillion, $90 zillion, whatever. Instead, they pick $60 billion - the amount they've written down so far. Vikram is a sneaky beaver.

When Charlie says "the situation is fluid", is that his little inside joke about how he is sweating through his underwear?
Posted by guest , Oct 08, 2008 1:14PM
@11 put a cork in it you stupid dickwad!
Posted by guest , Oct 08, 2008 1:18PM
#14, the only ones who wouldn't want an equitable solution are the wells guys. Now play nice.
Posted by guest , Oct 08, 2008 1:26PM
Hey @15, how do you know? Are you sleeping with someone at Wells?

#16. It doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to figure it out.

Fuck Charlie the Cunt. Reading about Miley Cyrus' sweet 16 birthday party at Disneyland is more informative.
"The theme park was closed for the supersized soiree, which included a four-song performance by the teen queen and a fireworks display above Sleeping Beauty Castle and 16 giant inflatable candles."
Sing along all you Hanna Montana closet fans.

no bonuses for the bankers or lawyers.
just pain and the humiliation of having no marketable skill after years of education and experience at a wall street bank or law firm. It must be humbling,
