The Dow is down (or was when I wrote this) but guess what? Those cheap ass drinks SouthWest NY offered last week if the DJIA closed 100 points lower than the previous day are back, for the rest of October. Every single day we close a hundo lower, SWNY, the bar downstairs in the World Financial Center, as well as Pound and Pence (55 Liberty Street), Merchants NY Café (Corner of Rector and Washington), will graciously offer half priced drinks to help ease your pain.* Supposedly Scores is considering a similar slashing of prices though no formal announcement has been made, so, for now, stick to the old JO&C.
*Never been to any of these places so we can't vouch for them** but let's be honest, fast becoming beggars can't be choosers.
**Nor are we arbiters of taste.

You think CNBC germany could get a chick that does not look like a reject from some German Olympic trials circa 1984.
She has been doing this for the last 12 years and the only thing that has changes is the growth of a 3rd chin
(and i am going to guess some additional chin hair).

Pound & Pence and SWNY are both outstanding places.

There is a rumor Sal the Stockbroker died of an apparent suicide.

AJ Kelly's is a gay bar.

pewonder - what about jeremy's, the old mc exchange before it closed, or brown bagging it!

Kelly's has the 2 for 5 special. Excellent choice in these tough times, especially when stone street gives you a pitcher for $17 like that's a special or something

With all that's going on, this the best you can do? Get some new material. Who cares about free drinks at Southwest?

@ 12
The intersection of everyone at merrill, nomura, amex & deloitte and people who enjoy drinking, which i imagine is a pretty large number.

Fun - Jeremy's is great for Styrofoam beers, but not much besides that. The place across Front street, Nelson Blue I think, has better beer.
I'm a big fan of Pound and Pence, and will be there tomorrow if the Dow is down 100 again.

Does that girl who puts matches in her nipples and lights them if you say it's your birthday still work at the Patriot? Speaking of slutty bartenders, it is too bad that dirty/sticky mikes is no longer around. Discount lapdances from hot spanish girls. NICE!

I called Pound and Pence, and the hostess said 1) you can only drink half price at the bar and 2) you must have received (and provide prior to drinking) the e-mail from them indicating that you're on their e-mail distribution list to imbibe among them for this Dow tumbling discount. Can someone post the e-mail, please?
