CNBC reports that the SEC has in fact extended the ban on short-selling, to not later than October 17, as was rumored earlier today.

@3,
I'm pretty sure that's the greatest product I've ever seen linked to on this fine website. Keep up the good work!

there's a sparx plus? wtf its like the alcohol content of Chimay minus the bulk plus the redbull? Hmmm

@Anal_yst,
The true magic is in the fact your can is subtle to the eye, enough to blend in with the common *big* can of redbull. The other actors on this stage are left none the wiser.

1 Have you ever been to Singapore? Bet not, after that comment. Its the kind of place that appeals only to the worst people on this earth. For that reason it is truly loved for example by expat wives. Tops on their list of reasons is that they can easily find a great and loyal Philippina maid, for not much scratch.

Singapore's not bad. Maximum tax rate of 20%. Good food. Lots of interesting places reachable via non-stop flights of six hours or less. Clean. Open to foreigners. One of the more livable places in Asia. Only downside is you have to be careful with your porn.

Singapore is frigging awesome -- You've never lived until you've had a 45 year old drunk on Tiger beer auntie blowing you like a porn star after singing "Where the Boys Are" in Singlish at the Q-Pub on Sembawang Road.
Well, that and the Curry-O's from Old Chang Kee.

Strange that only the companies on the list are allowed to short their own stock.
Guilty so far:
Goldman Sachs
Morgan Stanley
General Electric
General Growth Properties
Of course, it is in the best interest of their current shareholders - so kudos to management for being in cahoots with Cox.

It's easy to call for people like Cox to be fired (do people really think cox is calling the shots? yeah right) . But a task easier than shaking up the upper crust is simply moving to Singapore etc. Don't be surprised if you find a lot of people doing that
