Unfounded Rumors, HF Edition

devaney.03.jpg* TPG: -20%, YTD

* Trafelet-Delta: -30%, YTD

Obviously it's sad when any fund is down, but it's particularly upsetting for Traf, which, in a highly credible rumor, is said to have rented a yacht and sailed it down to the Caribbean for last year's office party. This year's soiree will likely be downsized considerably. (20 minute cash bar on Positive Carry).

bloomberg actually cited you guys on the toy-arrow thing.

people lift my ideas all the time, and I never get cited.

of course, I don't have a cool-sounding name like "Dealbreaker."

Yep No. 1, this guy is smart. But, did he pay for the whole party? Everyone's lodging? And, how long did that party last?

what to tell your mainstreet cousins about the bailout:

the transfer of wealth to banks is necessary because they have a gun to our heads.. having created this mess they are threatening to take us all down by refusing credit to anyone unless we pay for their mistakes... don't like it but sometimes you have to cry uncle... just pay the man and then wait for him around the corner with a brick in your hands... i.e. vote to replace anyone these guys might like, if you can find them.

Any update on Devany and UCM? The website is still up but it looks like Devaney and one other person are the only two memebers of "senior management".

@5 Main St views this crisis as Adam Smith's invisible hand bitchslapping Wall St for groping the proverbial invisible ass. Nothing you can say will make them support a bailout.

And John Arnold's fund is only up a measly 70%. Sad times.
