We didn't want you to miss the joy that was Rosa DeLauro's (D-CT) hearing performance today. Since CNBC has disappeared her video, we'll give you the next best thing. One of her past performances. (Ignore totally the political content of what she says, just listen... to the insanity that bleeds from every seam, threatening to leak out and cover the podium with a deep running red). Just pretend you are the Beard. Then replace "department" with "federal reserve" and "analyst" with "investment banker."
I have a great guy who gives out Valium without an office visit, so let me know if you need some after watching.
Sheesh.

No no no, you dont get it. You DO NOT use 'wingnut' or 'knuckle-dragger' for liberals. They are progressives damn it! You just do not understand the passion of class warfare, to you it will just seem like insanity you elitist sucking life of poor people evil finance person.
Go back to bashing conservatives - that is the acceptable thing is these circles.

EP means this is a thread for the wingnut(s) to come here and bash the non-wingnuts. EP knows very well what a wingnut is.

As a liberal, I would like to profoundly thank the neocons for giving us this election. Again, thank you, and as a consolation prize for playing our game, you win a free copy of the Constitution to read and study!!
Posted by guest , Oct 20, 2008 1:03PM
@2:
It can hardly be a coincidence that no one, anywhere, ever, has uttered the phrase "As Hot as Janet Reno."
...until now. Congratulations.

this is what we have to look forward to for the next 4 years when the inmates take control...just wait until the great black savior arrives...

She looks like the woman from my comparative lit. class from college. Troilus and Criseyde v. Troilus and Cressida v. Prof.'s puke sweater and cat-lady glasses = goosebumps.

How did that crazy homeless woman get to the podium?!?

Enough to break the ice.
(Weak. Not just the ice).

"wow" ...
trojan, it's not true love unless you write it in electric blue.

Despite her homely appearance and loud delivery, she's right. It only takes a small amount of critical thinking to realize that the US is basically structured to fund the unsustainable military-industrial complex until it runs us into the ground. As investment bankers, we all know what would happens to the risk free rate (treasuries) when the US declares bankruptcy.

@7 - you idiot.
2 was being ironic (look it up).
Posted by guest , Oct 20, 2008 1:48PM
She was pretty lucid. I thought she was going to ramble on without a point but it seems (although context was excluded in this clip) that she was upset about the Bush administrations ability to influence military analysts to change their opinions and findings about Iraq and that place in Cuba (eh, it's called Guacamole Bay, right?).
Posted by guest , Oct 20, 2008 1:50PM
Ha ha--wait, didn't that all pretty much make sense?
Wtf EP?

One good thing about people voting with their feet is that CT lost a Rep after the 2000 Census. Being represented by this woman at the time I "forgot" to register with the Census. Too bad it wasn't her seat that went away.

What if....a huge hole in the FSA oversight process results because some hedge funds, authirised by the FSA, are using advice from "consultants" who are not registered w FSA because they have "problems with the authorities". Yet these investment, hedge, etc funds pay them as consultants. Totally illegal, I'd say. N'est-ce pas?
Look at some commodity hedge funds for example .. London-based , West-end-ish

Just a reminder that if you love high taxes, big government, and the increased power of unions, you will love the next fours years. Look what it did for the Carter years...

America, from learned to idiocracy in 100y.

29 which is good for the Rs, since most idiots vote R. If they had to rely on the country club set alone, they would never win. Thank Reagan for figuring that out, Rove for perfecting it and the "Whats Wrong With Kansas" guy for pointing it out to the rest of us.
Posted by guest , Oct 20, 2008 3:27PM
Shouldn't she be teaching English Literature at some podunk liberal arts college during the day and having conversations with her 37 cats at night?
Who the fuck votes for people like this?

@18 - 7 Here.
Actually - I think the term you're looking for is SARCASTIC. I'm well aware of the embedded sarcasm in the post. To be ironic, the actual text of the statement would have to have some allusion to the contrast between Janet Reno, attractiveness, and this beast. You might want to look up the definition of irony yourself, before hopping up on a soapbox.
And besides, picking up on the sarcasm is irrelevant - even if they were being genuine, it doesn't change the fact that they're still the first person to use the phrase "As Hot as Janet Reno" - it just means they are either a) blind and b) deaf - which would make their reading an online website and typing a response truly something to be proud of.

She dropped WAY too much acid with Timothy Leary
what a wingnut

@6 I'm a neocon, and I love the Constitution. What part about the document's framework respecting Enumerated Powers, which limit the federal government, do you not understand?
Posted by guest , Oct 20, 2008 10:42PM
No, no, no, no...
It's not Litella, it's Jack Badofsky!
I knew I'd seen that creepy look before.
