    Nobody voting for 75, strange.

  2. Posted by diablo | October 29, 2008 at 10:09 AM

    I had to go with the date auction bit. Too precious.

  3. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:15 AM

    Surprised you didn’t have “JO&C” as one of your options as the Fed is seemingly running out of their own.

  4. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:17 AM

    @3- that’s the bankruptcy option

  5. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:26 AM

    That “One Night with Bernake” idea has some legs. Flesh that out some more.

  6. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:29 AM

    @5 – I think it should be “One Night, Two Bankers” and throw Paulsen in there. That’ll get you a tril.

  7. Posted by prgy | October 29, 2008 at 10:45 AM

    @ 6 I agree. This morning, I had a bowel movement in the shape of the state of Idaho.

  8. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:46 AM

    100bps

  9. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:48 AM

    Option 8: Ask the Treasury for a bailout

  10. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:50 AM

    @5, The theme song for the event would have to be a modified version of “One Night in Bangkok.”
    “One Night with Bernanke makes a hard man humble, not much between despair and ecstasy.”
    Damn, going to have that song in the head the rest of the day now.

  11. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:51 AM

    I voted for 75bps because there is no option for 100bps.

  12. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:52 AM

    @6 – I’d prefer “Two Bankers, One Cup”

  13. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:55 AM

    @12: Today, it should be “Two Bankers, One Cut”

  14. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:56 AM

    Can somebody tell me if back office guys get bonuses?
    I was previously in research but was given the boot. Just wanted to make sure there are bonuses in good times for backofficers before I contemplate applying there.

  15. Posted by MarshallStack | October 29, 2008 at 10:57 AM

    Menage a’ beard.

  16. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 10:59 AM

    @14: there was someone posting here a couple of weeks ago saying he’d been turned down for back office b/c he had no experience there. just fyi

  17. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 11:10 AM

    @16
    But yeah, bonus numbers?

  18. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 11:17 AM

    @17: In case you haven’t noticed, business is really slow. You ain’t going to get a bonus when there’s no business, and when management knows you have no other place to go. massive backoffice layoffs already from JPM/Bear, LEH, etc. – remember Econ 101 supply and demand? Do you need someone to tell you when there’s no business and lots of unemployed qualified people eager to work, that there are little to no bonuses?
    Start thinking about JOB, not bonus. If you have a job, you’re lucky. At this rate, if you have a second or third round interview, you’re lucky.

    If I get my vote right do I get a mug?

  20. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 12:20 PM

    Wasn’t yesterday’s run up in the final 60 minutes pricing in 75 beeps?
    Fed cuts:
    50 – DOW drops 700?
    75 – DOW spikes 250 and sells off 500?
    100 – DOW drops 450 and sells off 1000 end of the week?
    SDS 2PM chicken in the oven?

  21. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 12:23 PM

    21 here. It should be
    100 – DOW spikes 450 and sells off 1000 end of the week?

  22. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 12:50 PM

    50 bps is priced in. To get the surprise stimulus you need 75. Gotta get that dollar down (up 18% L3M).

  23. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 1:24 PM

    @21, Buy SDS at 2PM??

  24. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 1:24 PM

    Its strange… If the Fed cuts 75, I think I’d be more worried. (read: more willing to sell).
    Now that we’re this low, it be a sign that things are really fucked up. The Fed is getting next months numbers now…

  25. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 2:04 PM

    There should have been two polls.
    What will the fed do and what has the market priced in.
    SPODE

  26. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 2:25 PM

    @24 87.52 2′is o’clock. Market priced 75 end of yesterday. Cook it!

  27. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 2:32 PM

    @19
    OMG if there is a bank out there paying some IT clown a 7 figure bonus…it deserves everything that its getting right now

  28. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 2:50 PM

    @28–smile baby or face your id card being wiped off the system..Oh sorry, honey, let me check the system,no, you dont work here anymore, looks like you’re not in the system…..hahaha……..IT rules your world ……..did your girlfriend leave you a nasty voicemail, I probably heard it….as did 50 other geeks….hahahaha, plus we know her number

  29. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 2:55 PM

    @27, #24 here. I “cooked”?? it at 2PM & bought SDS at 88.59. We’ll see what happens.

  30. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 3:04 PM

    @30–you’ll probably have a margin call, but, you can deduct part of it from your taxes..hahaha

  31. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 3:04 PM

    @29: at least #28 HAS a girlfriend. If you had one, you wouldn’t be panting and listening in on someone else’s

  32. Posted by guest | October 29, 2008 at 3:07 PM

    @32–well, I know your computer id, so I know you’re looking for a job, cruise porn sites and are always late on your visa bill. I could tell your boss, or the auditors or your girlfriend, or your wife….maybe I’ll just ask your boss if its OK you call 900 #s all day long.
