    I wonder if people who invested in the Tontine 25 Overseas Fund are thinking “Whew, thank god I didn’t invest in the Tontine Capital Overseas Fund, I chose wisely”?

  12. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 9:51 AM

    @9
    -66.7% or -53.9% what’s the difference? It’s like waiting in line for a gang-bang, it doesn’t matter if your 1st or 31st you’re still getting screwed.

  13. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 9:56 AM

    Even with the pounding they’ve taken, the T-funds are probably all well above their original basis, those guys bought tons of stuff at $1 or $2/share that went to $50, so now it’s back at $5.

  14. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 9:57 AM

    @12, in that example i would rather we first. but if you compared say being 5th or 31st i see your point.

    @1 best WWII era literary thriller writer reference coupled with DB — Ever. Quality stuff.

  16. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 10:01 AM

    @12
    you obviously don’t understand the mechanics of a gangbang
    you are in line and getting screwed? are you a girl and your idea of a gangbang is a long line of girls waiting to get screwed by one guy? How the fuck would that work.
    Or you are a guy. but then what’s up with the GETTING screwed?

  17. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 10:10 AM

    “expressed, written consent” – I imagine they applied the same level of accuracy and attention to detail in their trading operation.

  26. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 1:37 PM

    @Anal_yst #19
    The S&P is down about 35-40% YTD, and I assume whatever the comparable index is for an “overseas” fund is probably just as bad, or worse. So, with the amount of leverage on these funds wouldn’t they actually be outperforming the market after you adjust for that?
    (not that anyone with money in them would actually give a shit one way or the other)
