What an idiot he is. When will he come clean and admit that he nearly ruined the economy by forcing Lehman into bankruptcy? And why are these CNBC 'tards calling him the most powerful man in the economy or whatever else - he's just desperately trying to clean up the mess he made.
Um...yeah, and we would have been so much better off without the rescue. For definitions of "better off" including all of the prime MM funds breaking the buck. For all those invested in Treasuries, even those won't be worth too much if the financial system melts down and there's nothing left to tax. I'm with @9. Cummings is a respected and hardworking Congressman who shoots his mouth off sometimes. And he wasn't calling Kashkari a "chump." He was characterizing the behavior of firms that have taken $2 trillion worth of checks and not put the money into the system, potentially just pocketing it, and asking Kashkari how he (and Treasury) felt abt that.
CNBC is truncating the quote so they can feign outrgage. What he said was: "I'm just wondering how you feel about an AIG giving $503 million worth of bonuses on the one hand, and accepting $154 billion from hard-working taxpayers. What really bothers me is all these other people who are lining up. They say, well, is Kashkari a chump?"

I'm pretty sure I've been making fun of Warren Buffet for buying stakes in GE and GS since september. Berkshire is most definitely a shell game of sorts. Nice call writing all those ATM puts he made too. The guy has lost $12bn dollars in the last 2 months on his shit show investments. He's been worse than Feinberg as of late. Hey moron, guess what, I get great trading ideas from the Dealbreaker comments section. I'm trading volatility here, rumors and unfounded speculation are better than facts and analysis in this game. I like to bet against then morons and listen to the people in the know. Like how this conversation tells me the finance industry is still populated by idiots like you and is not nearly at bottom.

Well i had a good week last week, Any time there's a one day move of 1,000 pts i'm going to do very well. And bonuses are shitty this year. So it doesn't take much for me to make more in a week than most people are going to make this year. That's all on paper anyway, i can't eat a back spread, so how much I made last week is irrelevant to how i spend my time. Plus I like commenting on blogs. This is recreation for me. I could go drinking or go to dinner but I'd rather do this. In case you haven't noticed I'm a misanthrope and I try to keep away from the heard of sheep, you call society as much as possible.

That is being exceptionally charitable. I would classify certain people more as cretins - ones that keep repeating some belief for quite some time and when suddenly their view turns right - to them it is vindication of not their view but of themselves. So the momentary achievement pumps up their self esteem and they start believing that they are the thing and all else is shit. Also, they just cannot stop gushing about it. Typically, not too many people give shit about them anyway so anonymous blogs offer and excellent place to gloat. However, the broader world soon recovers and moves on to better things whereas the cretins are left behind in their caves.
Dont worry. You are not the first, the only or the last.

You are right entirely except for your choice of words. I prefer my cave to the company of others. I tend to tell people when I think they're idiots and you are correct, they seem not to care for this. Some call this a personality flaw. But of course, that assumes most people aren't idiots. I have seen little evidence to support this assumption.
However, I feel the need to display my modicum of intelligence to others and blogs satiate that need. Fortunately my particular world view has afforded me the the opportunity to upgrade to a modern luxury cave.

More interaction with humanity might open your eyes to more colloquial usage of words. Like when you hear someone call you an asshole - he is not really calling you 'the opening at the lower end of the alimentary canal through which solid waste is eliminated from the body.'
Similarly, cretin is used to generally classify as a total fucking idiot, a borderline retard, a tool (which once again has nothing to do with mechanical implements.)
Also, nothing prevents retards from living in caves - especially when they themselves to agree to it.
