Pink Slip For Uncle Vik?

All we do all day at DB is root for the jolly elfin’ CEO but some people, people who for some sick reason just don’t get the importance of having a chief executive with the perfect body for reaching out and giving a tickle running your ship, are saying Count Vikula isn’t going to make it. So:

Votes are running 2 to 1 against Vik.

    2/3 double posting loser

Board needs a fall guy. So they can appear to be “doing” something.
This means the cost of purchasing Old Lane + cost of closing up Old Lane + Vikram’s severance = overpaying for the Vik.

  7. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 4:57 PM

No one else wanted the job a year ago. Who the hell would want it today?

  8. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 4:58 PM

This is how it will go down boys and girls. Citi will bottom and just as things turn around the future CEO will make his move in the shark tank and take full credit for the turn around.

Let him go?!? He should be forced to stay and work to earn his pay on the Pitibank customer service line in Mumbai. Should be paid off in about 477,832 years.

The board should be held accountable for the ridiculous amount of money they spent to get him. At the very least they should stop taking any kind of compensation. Even better, they should all have to buy shares with their personal funds.

Hank Paulson to replace Vik once he has completed his stint as Treasury Secretary…….

  12. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 5:57 PM

    If you fire VIk,
    John Mack
    Lloyd Blankfein
Put both their asses on the street. Both of those fucks still in charge and have added no value to the companies.

no leadership, no vision, horrible results, how does he survive?

  14. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 6:02 PM

Goldman conspiracy to remove the kid. Like Spurned bitches they run around to everyone you know and claim your an asshole.

  15. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 6:54 PM

Vik should be forced to toil as a phone boy getting paid 10 Rupees/hour in a Citi Mumbai customer service phone unit until he pays back those hundreds of millions of dollars that Citi shareholders shelled out ot buy his shit-astic excuse for a hedge fund with a crummy name of a disguise.

I thought Vik already had a pink slip (between his legs that is)?

  22. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 7:48 PM

Goldman conspiracy, my foot. Vikram Pandit had enormous assets under his control that could have been managed much better. I’m going with 13 on this.
The guy has a Ph.D. and is academically brilliant. I feel absolutely no personal animosity to him. The results under his leadership speak for themselves.

    @22
Sure. Everyone get in the line up and answer some questions.
If you haven’t noticed MS, GS, BAC all losing money.
If thats the case can em all.

Why does Rubin still have his job? Probably over 100 million in comp, no responsibility and he has been there since Sandy was running the show. If Vic goes, Rubin should be pulling the rickshaw with Vic in it.

  27. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 10:29 PM

Citi should split itself up in many pieces. It’s unmanageable the way it is. The major fault that the current management has is that it is moving too slow in breaking it up. That, combined with a low stock price can be making some big investors pretty angry and looking for blood. What have you got, Charlie?

  28. Posted by guest | November 14, 2008 at 11:20 PM

    @27
What I got is some money from Lloyd.

  29. Posted by guest | November 15, 2008 at 5:51 PM

if you kick Pandy out, then who runs the company? Sir Win? Parsons? There is no replacement…remember what happened after Chuck Prince left?
They should be happy Pandy took the job and shut their traps.
Also, what else would you have done w. hundreds of billions of level three assets??? Magically make them increase in value?
    Cheers b1tches,
    Tanned Banker

  30. Posted by guest | November 15, 2008 at 9:27 PM

I would be sad if Pandit got canned if only because it would spell an end to the Vikram Bandit series at LOLFed.

  31. Posted by guest | November 16, 2008 at 6:44 PM

If I was Pandit I would be happy to get away from the mess that is Citi. Might as well get off while the ship is listing and not bow down heading for the deep blue bottom.

  32. Posted by guest | November 16, 2008 at 11:57 PM

Pandit is/has been doing the right thing. The Wasp mafia doesn’t like change in their domain.

  33. Posted by guest | November 17, 2008 at 1:01 AM

Who would they replace him with? Remember how hard it was for them to get anyone to take the job after Prince’s departure? Vikram Pandit wasn’t their first choice, he was supposedly around 4th or 5th, no one else before him on the list wanted the job. Now things are even worse, I don’t think they’re going to find someone qualified that easy.

yes. then he’ll be the un-employee of the month on http://www.iget2work.com
which will be funny….. as is guessing what brad pitt’s first job was.
at least he didn’t have a special room for a pig in his manhattan apartment like that other ceo who went up in front of congress. what was his name again? the guy w/the little round glasses…italian name?
    they should ALL be un-employees.
