Nov. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Cerberus Capital Management LP, the
buyout firm that owns Chrysler LLC, would forgo any profit from
a future sale of the automaker should it receive federal
financial aid.
Chrysler also expects that the U.S. government would take a
stake in the company in any bailout, Chief Executive Officer
Robert Nardelli said today at a conference in Palm Desert,
California.
Cerberus founder Stephen Feinberg ``has basically gone on
record saying he would forfeit'' profit on a Chrysler sale in
those circumstances, Nardelli said

LOL! "profit"?!

2-6, you are too stupid to have a job. Actually you could work for BOFA securities, you would probably be head of the desk.

11

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 3:35PM

What loser would risk their career doing something like that. No wonder this industry is imploding.

12

I hope that wasn't a firm issued Blackberry you sent that picture from...

@9 Who knew Feinberg was so generous? Disney had it right- all dogs go to heaven. In this case the multi-headed dog that guards the gates of hell.

15

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 3:43PM

The little cross symbol on the paper is probably the "tracking" mark.

Kind of like the regional stars you see...or used to see....on Playboy magazine.

@12 you are asking for it. If you have nothing better to do than post a totally useless email here, perhaps Morgan should lay you off. You know, use your salary to pay someone who has at least marginal usefulness to the company

You traders can trade on any rumor you like. Your livelihood depends on you getting every piece of info on anything out ther. But don't talk. About anything. Ever.

27

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 3:53PM

Ha! That memo just screams: "SEND TO DEALBREAKER!!"

And why is it a problem for people to tell their spouses what is going on with their job at their company - why is that an impulse? Whoever wrote that is thrice divorced....fucking HR loser.

I'm married to Bess so its no big deal for her to share with our close personal friends here.

Nelson Muntz, pointing at Gary Lynch...

"Ha ha!"

29

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 3:54PM

What kills me about these guys is that they're living in the 80s: pre-Internet, pre-IM, pre-blogs. The genie is out of the bottle.

Information tends to flow, and on a trading desk they'll talk about which trader is banging which banker's wife and who hired which prostie to go to the Knicks game - do they really think a memo is going to be any different?

30

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 3:57PM

Maybe it was only sent to one employee, one that was suspected of doing stupid shit like that.

31

Bravo to the employee and the manner they chose to leak this memo to the outside world...

This is the usual "company" line and it tends to naturally break down when people are getting fired and business is bad. The internet is checked by the usual gaggle of intelligence, enforcement and business outfits who have their own agendas. Most, if not all, of this stuff is harmless gossip. However, businesses are sensitive entities concerning their own skins and do not appreciate light gossip. Individuals can get hurt. Everything here can be traced. It's a jungle out there. Let the bad people get caught, not hapless people.

44

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 4:35PM

@35 - how true! At times I think Cerberus must be secretly short Chrysler somehow. First, how could they pay actual money for that thing, and second, they put Nardelli in charge?!! Really? Can you tell me with a straight face that they weren't trying to run that pig into the ground?

The real question is, will Nardelli forgo his pay check if the US provides a bailout?

This site is a great place to get scoop I won't deny that, but you're all a bunch of cynical phucks (you too Bess). To think someone ever thought of marrying/phucking/befriending any of you. Go look in the mirror and realize your shit stinks like everyone else and you're only reading and posting here for the schadenfreude. Now bring on the added cynicism and nasty comments.

53

2 good investment rules

1) Never invest in a company that hires Nardelli.

2) Never invest in a company that was just sold by crater face Wayne Huzinga.

@52, schadenfreude and associate numbers.

So you admit this is a good place to get a scoop, but that everyone else is only here for schadenfreude? Nobody is here for the news? Just you? Tell me now whose shit doesn't stink, fuckwad?

56

associate numbers at MS today please

57

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 5:49PM

@ 55: my schitt stinks, like yours, fuckwad. I'm here for the news and the gossip, so you missed my point as I did not claim otherwise. Must have touched a raw, guilty nerve in your weak, snarky ass. However, it's just a dishonorable thing to do to put this memo out there. It's called ethics. We all go here because we want to read and snipe and no one's name ever gets out there. However, there are lines that people should not cross. You know it and I know it, assuming a) you were raised by normal humans; and, b)you plan to prouce offspring and raise them to do the right thing.
And the numbers tomorrow will be sadly massive.

58

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 5:58PM

The modern way to watermark memos is to send a slightly different version to each recipient, then see who's version makes it to the press. For example, the spacing between words in a line could be tweaked in a barely perceptible, unique way for each recipient.

59

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 6:26PM

@44 Dude, be patient with the PC. Click once.

60

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 6:41PM

@55. Re: the topic. I completely agree with you on principle. It's the wrong thing to do. It's adding insult to injury to publish memo about not going public with internal info. Still, this is the wrong hill to die on. There are far worse problems industry wide than what a few ratty people do.

That said, realize that your initial post was a carpet bomb attack on all DB readers. You don't know everyone here.

62

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 7:49PM

@58. Dude, this was a regular (rich text) email, sent to 44'000 people. There is no room for sneaky watermark or spacing tricks here.

That said, posting this was a stupid thing to do, and the only result will be less internal communication now. Thanks for nothing.

65

Posted by Last Man Standing , Nov 13, 2008 8:01PM

I've got how we can work this out.
Old Gary "understands the impulse to pass these communications to your spouses or partners" so all we have to do is have someone "marry" Bess (or EP if you're into that sorta thing) and we can pass all the info over to db. done.
who's up for it? jews will be given first pick.

66

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 8:56PM

I work for MS and love it. I can't believe some asshole had the decency to post that memo to the entire world. Seriously, now we're not going to get all the important memos because of this crap. Shame on you.

67

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 9:23PM

@ 65

What exactly do you mean by "or EP if you're into that sorta thing"? Were you trying to be overtly clever, or do you not know that EP is also a chick?

68

Posted by guest , Nov 13, 2008 10:39PM

70

Dips, this memo doesn't say anything, except don't say anything. How is this confidential. It's an idiotic memo, written by an idiot. It deserves to be laughed at. And posted to DB.

Also -- there's no tracking if you use your personal I Phone. Don't have to use a corporate blackberry.

But jeez, who's the douche who wrote this memo? That's who should get fired. It begs to be posted.

If you really want something to be confidential. Don't hold meetings and tell everyone about it.

71

Posted by guest , Nov 14, 2008 7:17AM

What was gained by posting that memo exactly ? What do you think it proves ? Sending a memo to 44,000 people is like putting up a billboard in Times Square and telling people not to look at it.If everyone tells two people and those people tell two people...well we all remember the commercial from the 80's

72

@ 52, 55, 57, 60

Could we turn down the righteous indignation for Christ's sake?

You presumably work on Wall Street so quit bloviating about ethics. I laughed so hard that my Sprite came out of my nose until I realized you two (or possibly TGFD arguing with himself again through proxy handles and guest users) were serious. Then I almost tossed my fucking lunch.

Remember not ten years ago when analyst pay was (overtly) contingent upon the success of the analyst's firm in putting together deals for the covered entity? Wonder why analyst ratings have such bias towards going long.

Almost hard to believe (but not really) that they failed miserably regarding their assessment of securitized mortgage assets. For its part, Wall Street was some combination of too stupid to know better (unlikely) or too greedy (this horse is favored like 800 to 1) to exhibit any semblance of collective self-restraint insomuch as everyone thought you wouldn’t get caught holding the bag . Bottom line: you work on the street so it's been fuck or walk for as long as the music was playing. Spare us the ethics lecture now that it's stopped.

@ 69 - Whatever it takes to get your mind right for your regularly scheduled 2:00 bathroom stall spunk session. Eventually though, when the internet porn looses its luster, you've got to ask yourself if all women REALLY are "lesbos" or if just maybe your approach is lacking something.

Get down,

HH
