Mr. Dupre said in a statement, “I appreciate the impartiality and thoroughness of the investigation.” Anyone have any idea how he managed to worm his way out of this one?

They have him DEAD TO FUCKING RIGHTS on a structuring charge – that HE used to put people in jail ALL THE GODDAMN TIME – and they’re not going to do ANYTHING?
Fuck. Why I bother to even pretend to have any ethics, I’m sure I don’t know.

  4. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:32 PM

I guess it’s not technically prostitution if the client can’t get it up

  5. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:34 PM

He was the governor. He’s got goat pictures of all these guys.

  6. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:35 PM

A free case of Brawndo, it’s got what US Attorney’s crave.

  7. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:35 PM

    @4 – perrrrrrrrrfect!
now it is time for Dupre really show a lot of skin…c’mon to long for a playboy/hustler/whatever magazine

  8. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:36 PM

@3…correct. The structuring charge was easy…no idea why they didn’t go for the low hanging fruit.
    Spitzer is scum.

  9. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:36 PM

    garcia = client #8?

  10. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 3:39 PM

    Seriously?
I live a sad little life, these days. I was planning on throwing a party around his perp walk.
How the hell does this guy get off?
He was moving money across state lines in futherance of an illegal activity.
@4 I’m going to guess it was more likely prostitution given that he got up and put it into the #2 hole.

This is bullshit. Don’t they know we are in a recession? Less supply will only increase prices.

Bess – excuse me – didn’t know you consider yourself some fucking nobel laureate in writing.
But since you ask – do you perhaps have a picture of yourself similar to that of Ms. Dupre above?
Bess is fired up today given the number of times she has responded to commenters. Are your nips hard bess?

  27. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 4:08 PM

@14- jokingly referring to spitzer as mr. dupre is not so sophisticated that it would have to be written by a nobel laureate, unless you are reading at a 2nd grade level, which I assume you are.

  38. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 5:49 PM

They let him off because if they charged him they would also have to charge the other clients, some of whom are apparently HUGE public figures

  39. Posted by Seaman Bodine | November 6, 2008 at 6:30 PM

  43. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 7:02 PM

Seaman is actually pretty close as to the reason… I know some folks that were advising the prosecution and the general thought was “This guy is a total asshole that deserves to get fucked by the same bullshit he fucked others on… but that doesn’t make it right.” Going around hanging people on technical violations of laws that were not meant to be used in that manner is something we should support (even though, if anyone deserves it, it is this guy). Then again, maybe the prosecution just ignored the advice they were given and dumped it for other reasons.
The guy’s life is ruined anyway, all he is avoiding is prison time he shouldn’t have to serve.

  44. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 7:06 PM

Heh, personal feelings poked through on that last post… “*NOT* going around hanging people on technical violations” is how it should have read.

  45. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 10:09 PM

    obviously paid off…

  46. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 10:33 PM

@43, prosecutors hang bitches out to dry on “technical” violations of these structuring and money laundering laws every fucking day of the week, as Spitzer himself did. Shit, Spitzer hung people out to dry on “technical” non-violations of any fucking law. This is total fucking banana republic bullshit.
    Fuck this.
Spitzer could have, and should have, got 20 years for this shit, and they let him go? When the fucking did Spitzer let anybody go? Patterson and Cuomo need to get on top of this fucking prosecutor or fucking resign themselves.

  47. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 11:39 PM

@46..prosecutor was federal cuomo and patti have no jurisdiction to tell the US Atty to do anything…

  48. Posted by guest | November 6, 2008 at 11:57 PM

    spitzer

  51. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 11:01 AM

@43 .. His life is far from ruined, he’s got plenty of money, work in real estate, and a very comfortable life. Not prosecuting him for a crime that everyone knows he did is pretty bad. He should have been convicted, even if they just gave him a slap on the wrist punishment.

  52. Posted by guest | November 7, 2008 at 11:34 AM

@46: Yes, he could have been hung just like he hung everyone else. I think we can all admit that what he pulled on people was bullshit. So other than revenge, exactly why should he get ’20 years’ (structuring / mann act) for getting hookers?
If I remember correctly they were investigating him because there were suspicious banking irregularities… they thought it was bribery. They figure out that it was just him getting some. Then they went “Fuck. Well, we have to do something…”
@51: Fair enough. But he did have his hooker bit spread all over the national news, was humiliated, then lost his job and had his life work of being a total tool destroyed. Yeah, he has money, but for all intents and purposes he’s done for publicly. All of that for getting hookers? I’d say the scales are balanced, and I think EVERYONE would think that if it was anyone other than Spitzer.
I think we should chalk it up as an easy way for everyone to be rid of a parasite. We shouldn’t rage about the crap he did, then do it right back to him on grounds of irony.

  53. Posted by guest | November 12, 2008 at 6:20 PM

So its legal to bang hookers now without fear of prosecution? Good Im heading to get me some right now!
