I know this is an awkward time to be asking, considering the events of the last week but we couldn't in good faith not pass this on. CNBC reports that Mr. Madoff, who was supposed to report to prison today at 1PM, has been granted an extension on his deadline to post ($10 million) bond. All we're asking for is two more people to co-sign, his brother and wife having already done so. Who's going to step up to the plate?

How about his two completely and totally innocent sons?
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 12:39PM
One of his kids?

Great! I have it covered.
Didn't make a lot on the management fee - but that back end load was sweet.

Bernard Madoff is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

How about Dick Fuld? Heard he sold some artwork a few weeks ago for some pretty good coin, easily enough to cover that $10. mil bond. K-Fuld is probably out shopping in Pennsylvania today so it's a good time to call and ask before she gets home.
PS: Maybe Fuld & Madoff can also work out which one gets the top bunk at the prison they both are eventually going to!

@5 you his mistress? The kids need to save their money for their legal defense because they are totally innocent......but then so was OJ
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 12:45PM
@1/2-- they're not allowed to have any contact w/ him because they're witnesses.

it'd be sweet if some TV producer would post the bond, on the condition that he gets to implant a camera / mic for a few weeks

Why are they wasting tax dollars on this vermin? He should be given immediate capitol punishment.
Dude has already admitted guilt by turning himself in...
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 12:47PM
I'll pay his cab fare to get to prison.
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 12:47PM
@9 witnesses or suspects?
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 12:47PM

Notice a lot of AD related comments lately (#11). I wholly approve of this trend and the move away from wideclops.

How this guy is out on bail is beyond me - he had control of $17 BILLION which is now unaccounted for - and he has ties to other countries (Israel) - if this guy isnt a flight risk - who is.
DISGRACE

What is wideclops? Is it like watergate?
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 12:59PM
@9: if the Feds believe Madoff will have "no contact" with his sons then they are even more incompetent than I thought.
Posted by guest , Dec 16, 2008 1:01PM

Maybe his brother Peter, and his neice Shana (aka the Madoff compliance team - Go Yale Law!) and her husband, former Madoff SEC investigator Eric something-or-other..maybe they can sign!

@41...
I'm assuming Yale is a joke that I wasn't here for...
Peter and Shana both went to Fordham Law and it took Peter a few years to pass the bar.
Either way they were the "lawyers" in charge!
