What, like upper middle class Jews from Westchester can't play for Team Poor in Class Warfare?
[Fuld was]...under the powerful influence of Lew Glucksman. Glucksman was a gifted, ferocious trader, driven, in large part, by bristling class resentment. The principal targets of Glucksman's ire were the firm's investment bankers, the Waspy Ivy Leaguers who dropped names and chatted up CEOs.[...]
Despite having been raised in Westchester's upper-middle class, Fuld seemed to absorb Glucksman's class resentments....
I know we're all scared of him, but knowing that he was in fact an upper middle class Jew from Westchester, picturing this just has to make you laugh.
...-- "Fucking bankers," he called them.

4 Guess it wasn't Princeton. But seriously, think of the skill set necessary in sales and trading. Ivy or near ivy is no indicator of success.

"...two many Joeys?"
Was that quote from a Brooklyn Joey?

Only people who went to Ivy League schools think it matters because so much of their identity is where they went to college. Trust me, Ive worked with a ton of morons from HBS, Princeton, you name it. Anyone can regurgitate a textbook, Id rather be street smart.

I hear you on Ivy
However, the quote is less about smarts and more about style, demeanor and presence....
Lehman had two many guys who just didnt fit the part....
