I think the takeaway here is, really, that we shouldn’t worry that Jon Jon’s Cabaret (for those discerning Big Auto employees who might like to take in the view now and again) has halved the cost of a table dance (from $20 to $10) because all their margin is in food and drink, yes? It is more likely a hardship for the firm’s dancers, who, according to the firm, live off the dance fees and tips. But, hearing that they now open at 6pm rather than 11am (what, no table dance for lunch? No mid-day flash for the hardworking engineer?) and have cut drink prices bodes poorly.

Thanks for the schadenfreude news article, EP. Did you notice that the cabaret is located on — wait for it — Mound Road?
(admittedly childish snicker)
And who knew there were casinos in downtown Detroit? I thought they had to go at least as far as Canada to gamble away their GM Jobs Bank paychecks…
As a former FoMoCo electrical engineer (briefly, before I “saw the light”, got an MBA, and eliminated any remaining intelligence working for an I-bank) I can say with some experience that both of the establishments mentioned in the article are complete shit-holes.
And yes, there are casinos in Detroit, just in case betting your life driving to Greektown isn’t enough of a gamble.
