Two unnamed Swiss sources claimed over the weekend that UBS may cut up to 4,500 additional jobs. According to the bank, it does not comment on "speculations regarding further headcount reductions," and that the previously announced 9,000 cuts, mostly in investment banking, are going well.

Heard over the weekend that the RBS and Greenwich Capital people are LIVID that the London RBS office has done layoffs yet and that the U.S. has taken the brunt. I haven't seen RBS London layoffs, but supposedly (according to a lawyer in the NY RBS office) London, who was going to wait, realizes they need to start their layoffs sooner rather than later. Stay tuned.
