Far be it from us to judge the now destitute wives of once rich husbands, and, in fact, we're actually sharing this not so much as a criticism but as a service guide to the many of you who'll find yourselves in the same position in the near future (Ken, Bernie, etc). According to Daily Beast Kathy Fuld, wife of erstwhile billionaire Dick Fuld, has been having some difficulty adjusting to her new lifestyle as a merely marginally rich woman. Once a proud shopper, Lady Fuld has apparently taken to breaking her sessions into $5,000 to $10,000 hits and doing so in secrecy, like a regular junkie. For now, she's apparently just asking stores to give her unmarked bags so as to not draw attention to the fact that she's buying items that could go a long way in paying off her husband's bookies (no judgment!). But it's a slippery slope to making her purchases out on Long Island.

The SEC are not active regulators. They are coroners. They always swoop in AFTER the dead bodies start piling up trying to figure out what happened. Of course, what should you expect from yet another understaffed arm of our bureaucracy. Chris Cox instills about as much confidence as Rick Wagoner.
If this Horlick clown was counting on the SEC then he deserves to lose money.

Anyone know what the first wife whom he left for this piece of work is up to? I used to work at Bear and of course, everyone knew, but no one talked, about his first wife. The story I have heard is that DF's first wife found out about renovations he was doing on an apartment (in an outer borough) for the woman who eventually became wife #2 from a contractor who accidentally phoned the family home. If it's true, it's sad. But all these guys (ex-Thain and Paulson) seem to be like this.

Maybe they're just trying to be cost efficiant - all these women look the same so if the wife of a CEO at an ibank can't make it to an event they can call another CEO and ask to borrow their wife for the evening and nobody would know.
If men are going to be with women who are obviously using them for their money, they should at least choose someone who doesn't look the same as what everyone is expecting, a woman like Padma Lakshmi - try to be original for a change.

I imagine that if I knew someone who was dumb as a bag of rocks and had a cloying way of patronizing people by feigning heartfelt sincerity, I might find some satisfaction in her being publicly outed for being the truly selfish and heartless bitch she actually is.
