‘These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis, the more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.’

The funny part is he really is not guilty: Illinois constitution permits selling senate seats!!!
It’s all about Obama framing his old enemies.

I realize people here hate Spitzer but you’re including him in a list of criminals who killed people or are responsible for honest people losing their entire savings – I don’t think having sex with a prostitute is as bad as stealing billions but I’m sure people here don’t agree and I don’t want to hear how he is a “hypocrite” anymore. Actually your hatred of him only shows that he was right.
Also there has to be a reason Fitzgerald went after him before anyone could actually give him any money – I think he realized that if it had continued Obama or someone associated with him would have been implicated.

@10: Nobody gives a fuck what you don’t want to hear about. He put people in jail for prostitution and for money laundering. He then committed both. If he doesn’t voluntarily report to prison or, better yet, just offer himself up for anal rape at every gay bar in town every Friday night for the rest of his life, he’s a hypocrite, end of story.

  15. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 4:09 PM

#11 – you seem as though you’re a man who can’t accept that he is really gay so he takes out his anger on other people. end of story.

@8. Are you Ken Fisher? You lost of a lot of money of your clients, mostly old retired biz owners (PURIX). Where were your UNIQUE insights? How about the 8 (or 10, whatever) mistakes that investors make, according to Ken? What a joke.

  18. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 4:26 PM

@10 – You are a clown. A governor that covers up fraudulently wired money into some slam piece’s* account is not the same.
    * Think contractor / terrorist / foreign leader

  19. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 4:33 PM

WTF, no “All of the above”?

  20. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 4:38 PM

He hasn’t been convicted of anything. It’s also illegal to target someone for political reasons – none of his bank transactions were enough to make anyone at his bank go through his accounts. They were TOLD to go through the accounts by someone, probably by someone in the government.
But you don’t seem to understand what I was saying anyway – comparing him to men who have killed women or stolen billions from innocent people is outrageous.

  21. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 5:01 PM

Not Guilty, Y’All Got to Feel Me.

  22. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 5:03 PM

@20 – I guess outrage it is. Enjoy it, then.

  23. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 5:25 PM

@20: I don’t care that he was banging hookers and covering it up, per se – I don’t think either of those things should be illegal.
What I object to is the fact that the fucker put other people in prison for doing it and then did it himself and basically dared anybody to catch him at it. There are people rotting in cells right now, their lives ruined, because he punished them for what he did himself and all it cost him was a cushy job. He’ll be writing strident books and living easy for the rest of his worthless life. That’s why he’s a hypocritical fuckbag. You get me now?

  24. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 5:53 PM

Did he actually go after men who were using prostitutes or did he go after the people who owned the agencies?
Usually they don’t prosecute men who use prostitutes or give anyone their names.
He is a hypocrite – so are you and so am I and so are most people. Is hypocrisy a worse crime than killing a woman or stealing billions from people? I’m just saying Spitzer shouldn’t even be on this list.

  25. Posted by guest | December 19, 2008 at 7:12 PM

No. You are very wrong. You cling to your pathetic fable of fluid exchange.

Erm, sounds like a quote from “Nixon”.
But seriously, either Scooter Libby, Rove, or GWB himself. :)
Darn, those last 2 aren’t charged with anything? Well, one can only hope, with time…
