So, this is pretty upsetting. Remember last month, when there was that sighting of Dick Fuld flying-- I don't even want to say it but here it comes-- commercial? Apparently he wasn't just fucking with us for personal amusement. He might actually be serious about this shit, as evidenced by a second glimpse of Dick and wife Kathy "being instructed by a man who appeared to be their driver on how to work the JetBlue self check-in kiosk at Palm Beach airport en route to La Guardia" a few days back. What's next, huh? Declining a pillow cause he can't come up with the 5-spot? Saying thanks but no thanks to the $3 bag of nuts? Seriously, hit me with it. I want to be mentally prepared.

14 No surprise there. Now he's acting like the merely rich, which is slightly cheep, cutting corners in places where it doesn't matter all that much. Where there's very little marginal utility to be gained from spending a lot more. I had comcast, Time Warner and currently stuck with cablevision in Greenwich.
The quality of HD, interface and selection of on demand movies on Time Warner is far superiror to both.
Cablevision is garbage! It takes 3-5 sec delay to change channels, on demand movies suck and HD quality is crap. On top of all this, they keep on calling about the phone service.
Comcast is horrible too!

@girl - love actually? now I know why hbo plays that damn movie 5 times a day (if you have all of their channels). as for flying, I'll buy barrel of animal crackers from staples and take the first class ticket...you can have jet blue and their 3 hour waits on the tarmac.

I have been on the subway with Bloomberg. His drives in his gas hog SUV to the subway stop and gets on with a few goon body guards. While it may be symbolic, I still like the idea of a mayor riding on the subway.
They should have a progressive Metrocard. If you are out of work it will charge you 75 cents for one ride. If you are a rich guy like Mike it charges you 1 million dollars a ride. That should fix the MTA budget deficits.

48 He gets on at 59, off at City Hall -thats three stops on one train. And he gets driven from his house to the subway. I appreciate his effort like you do, but think about how much more annoying and time consuming it would be if he did it like a typical New Yorkeer. First walk from 79/Fifth to 77/Lex to take the 6 to 42nd (4 stops) then change to the express (two stops). The real pain of subway commuting comes from the hike to the train stop (esp upper east, where with only one line, its likely yr not near a station) and having to switch trians from express to local or from one line to another which practically doubles the travel time.
