Maybe! A three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ordered today that the Enron CEO be resentenced, claiming that U.S. District Judge Sim Lake “erred by applying guidelines that resulted in a 24-year prison term,” which was apparently “too severe.” (The 19-count conviction was upheld, though J to the S still awesomely maintains innocence.) Legal Eagle Dennis Kneale agreed earlier that 24 years was excessive.

Khan!!!
Pardon me
“Legal Eagle Dennis Kneale agreed earlier that 24 years was excessive.”
Hah. Please remove tongue from cheek. Damage will be minimized if you first unclench teeth.
Kneale is cocksucker. I hope he falls in a ditch to hell.
Skilling should rot or save us the tax dollars and die like Ken Lay.
Just enough of a window to get that much needed colon surgery. Then back to the pen for more ass-pounding. Crook. When’s Bernie going in?
Tell me this, is there anything Dennis Kneale DOESN’T know????
Dennis Kneale knows all!!
Dennis Kneale knows all!!
&7…..Hey, e_anthony58….surely you jest.
“What’s the difference between California and the Titanic?”
/misses the good old days
Maybe his sentence should be reduced to house arrest, an ankle bracelet and perhaps a bronze statue of security guards keeping watch. After all, the corporate criminals of the recent market debauchery will probably roam free.
@5 Agreed. Colon surgery and another facelift is on the docket.
24 years for Skilling – one of the greatest business minds of the last 50 years is just insane. it serves NO ONE to incarcerate Jeff for that long. the people hurt most by this reactionary and excessive punishment are the innocent shareholders. the indictments resulted in frozen assets and huge legal bills – millions of dollars that could have been recovered… in the future we need to do a better job with distinguishing types of corporate crimes and apply appropriate sentences. jeff is a man who did everything right his entire life. of course poor decisions were made and lots of people were hurt – but to make Jeff serve 24 years is just as wrong as the harm his admitted malfeasance caused.
24 years for Skilling is a huge miscarriage of justice. it serves NO ONE to incarcerate Jeff for that long. the people hurt most by this reactionary and excessive punishment are the innocent shareholders. the indictments resulted in frozen assets and huge legal bills – millions of dollars that could have been recovered… in the future we need to do a better job with distinguishing types of corporate crimes and apply appropriate sentences. sentencing guidelines need to be reformed. unlike garbage criminals who offer zero to society, jeff is a man who basically did everything right his entire life. of course poor decisions were made and lots of people were hurt – but to make Jeff serve 24 years is just as wrong as the harm his admitted malfeasance caused.
@13 & 14 Give me a break
@13 & 14: Jeff, long time no talk. I didn’t know they let you use the internet in prison.
13: one of the greatest business minds of the last 50 years is just insane

Why didn’t he invoke the insanity defense then?
or have I misconstrued your syntax a bit?
13 is j to the s in the prison library at the pc
Skilling’s HBS interviewer’s 1st question after reading his resume: “So you think you’re smart?”
J to the S: “I’m fucking smart”
come on, how about some proportionality here? oj will be free in 6 years and skilling 20?
You seem to be forgetting what charge OJ is in for – its not murder.
Skilling came from McKinsey & Co. That firm has turned out more bullsh*t laden CEO’s than I care to remember. Consultants are the worst form of scum that plagues the business community today. I feel sorry for all the HBS jerk*ff’s that want to go into this field as they will learn absolutely nothing about running a business (however, they will make bank).
